Hanya yawned lazily as they began the initiation rites, her blackened digits moving in a subtle gesture as she murmured incantations to the spirits of the past, touching various gems and trinkets on her person as she cast the formulae to aid her. Normally she would be alert for such a task, but the rather meek and unimpressive recruits didn't exactly inspire high hopes in her.
Like mice they are, afraid of the shadows, the cat thought, looking at them with disinterest, reflected in the thin pupils of her feline eyes.
