"Yep. S'how I make my jink. Find stuff, sell it cheap 'cause it was thrown out, skim a little for my effort. A good earner sometimes, but... well. Got reasons I'm tryin' t'get it more organized."

Mysti shrugged one of her small shoulders.

"Just doing what I always do this time of night --- sit here. Have a drink. Play the flute. The staff here at Masty's don't mind a little music. I don't perform, per se, but it's something I suppose."

She picked up the silver flute and absently twirled it like a knife between her fingers.

"Funny ... I've been here going on two decades now. I think. At least based on the calendar of Midgard. I still don't really know anyone. I have contacts and some Hardhead colleagues. But ... well ... "

Mysti shrugged again and didn't bother continuing her side of the conversation. Instead, she nodded in Ikkit's direction. "Your rounds, like -- walking around looking for things to salvage, I presume?"

He nodded to his sack.

"Just makin' my rounds. You?"

Mysti nods once in a resolute way.

"I think I know just who to talk to about getting your guild up and running. I can't promise anything -- well actually I could if I magicked up his mind with a spell -- but I'd rather not do that and risk getting caught. But it should skip some of the bureaucratic nightmares this city loves so much."

When the two drinks she had ordered when Ikkit first sat down finally arrived, she is quick to drink it -- though not all at once.

"Well, my friend, I suppose our business is concluded. You're more than welcome to hang around just to jawjack about whatever comes to mind. But if you have other things you need to be doing, I would certainly understand."

He did indeed regard her- as he regarded most humanoids- as a misshapen giant, but she seemed friendly enough, and hey, knowing people was always useful.

"'Preciate any help y'might offer. Tryin' get an org'nization offa th'ground's liable to run smoother with th'right folks talked to..."

Ikkit mostly rubbed shoulders with the wrings folks in his day to day existence, and the fact that this woman probably killed people without the formality of an arrest bothered him not one whit. The Harmonium wasn't renowned for its pragmatism, but every so often they had to turn some up.

"Ahh, I see, right," Mysti purred -- it seemed like most of what she said had an oddly seductive purring quality to it. Though whether a goblin would find a dhampir at all seductive, well ...

"I only patrol for them when I absolutely have to -- for instance -- if too many normal patrol members can't perform their regular duties. But you're right. What I do for the Harmonium is -- shall we say -- on the shadier side. In most cases I run down bounties for them. Folks who have escaped justice by fleeing, hiding, even attempting to live on another plane."

She leaned in closer to Ikkit as if she were about to divulge secret information. She even dropped her voice down to a conspiratorial level. "Most of those guys are like bulls in a china shop. They tend to have big mouths and an arrogant attitude. By the time they get anywhere near a fugitive from justice, that fugitive has fled to somewhere else."

Mysti then gave Ikkit a rather feral-looking grin, those very pointy canines poking over her bottom lip just a wee little bit.

"I do other things for them, too. Things you probably didn't know the Hardheads do. And things they don't want people to know they do." She paused for a moment, then continued. "But I do know quite a few people. I might be able to grease the wheels a bit -- if you know what I mean."

[Back to normal is a big ask under the circumstances. Lost my dog about three years ago and it still hits me at odd times]

"Nah, nah, I mean, whatcha do, what's your line? Y'dont's treak me as a patrol Hardhead."

Mysti canted her head to the side just a little, giving Ikkit a rather puzzled look.

"My line? Hmmm," she replied as she retracted her hand to wipe off the saliva on the underside of the table. "I don't ... wait, what do you mean by 'line'? Are you asking why I am helping you?"

She lifted a curious eyebrow.

((Apologies for being so slow last few days - had to put my dog down so haven't been posting as much -- but I'll be back to normal in a day or two.))

He cocked his head to the side and shook her hand firmly, actually smiling a bit (rather than his usual display of teeth dressed up as a smile).

"No need t'stay out o' th'business if you want in, y'know, but even just th'right words in th'right ears c'n help."

He paused.

"An' what's your line, anyhow?"

Mysti eyed Ikkit's saliva-drenched palm with a faint air of disgust. The last thing she wanted to do was to get goblin spit all over her hand. But, alas, Sigil was a nexus for so many different types of beings with so many different cultures and ways of doing things. It wouldn't do her any good if she went around offending people just to satisfy her seemingly delicate sensibilities. But it still made her skin crawl. Not because it was goblin spit -- but because it was spit. It wouldn't have mattered whose it was.

All of those thoughts took less than a second -- after which Mysti spat in her own hand then reached out and shook Ikkit's hand.

"Excellent. Excellent." She then tilted her head slightly to the side as if taking Ikkit's measure. Mysti pursed her lips thoughtfully then said, "Word on the street says you wish to start your own salvaging guild. I'm not sure how, at this point, but perhaps I can be of help. Should you need it. If not, I will henceforth stay out of your own business."
