In His Element [Day 6, Early Night, Task Timeslot 2]

It had been a very trying day for Ikkit. Meetings with overthinking berks, letting his friend rope him into going to the fucking Abyss to find the bones of a dragon that had been dead a while, a meeting with a damn arcanoloth where he wasn't sure if her scorn or her good opinion was a worse possible outcome...

It was, all told, a genuine relief to go back to shadowing Corsino operatives in the Market Ward, and the goblin made his usual trash-searching efforts as he fulfilled his task for Shemeshka.

He knew that many people in Sigil would offer more legitimate work, and with fewer ominous undercurrents... but most of them were Faction leatherheads, and even the so-called "Free League" were too leashed to some idiotic philosophy for Ikkit's taste.

And besides, with Shemeshka, Ikkit always knew where he stood... three steps behind, and useful enough to pay a few bob here and there.
