"Like I told you, my next death will be far from a true one as long as pearls of my consciousness are scattered. I want to avoid that fractured and irredeemable existence. This body is my soul's best chance." She confided as they were leaving.

"Tell me about it."

He sighed with no small amount of worry playing across his features. How strikingly similar her prophecy is to his in location and set pieces. He then shared his with her.

"A Devil, the thing about the clock? I want to believe this is typical fortune-teller non-sense." He crossed his arms and stared absently at the shifting crowd. "But what if it isn't. 'I have lost and will lose again?' Must I lose more? When will it be enough!"

He looks at you with sad scared eyes.

"I'm not ready to lose you yet. I know you'll say true death comes to us all but..." a wince, "... does it have to come so soon? I just found you." He shakes his head. "Let's go somewhere else."

"Are you alright?" He asked. "You've been quiet for sometime. Here, let's go this way..." Cyprian guided Akh away from the group over to an isolated bench. "...this should give us some privacy."

He too wants to talk about his fortune. It just wasn't sitting well with him and he wasn't sure why.

"Are you worried about the Abyssal trek?"
"Not worried, just a bit irritated and confused. I suppose that's what prophecies to do most." She said absent-mindedly, then shared the words of the seer for her with Cyprian.

"Probably, but I did have an encounter with a suit of armor a while ago." he shrugged.

Mysti patted Whisper's hand in return, giving a rather contended sigh.

"So ... what did you say your fortune was about? Something about armor? I'll bet just about anything it was metaphorical ..."

"Hello, beautiful." he gave her hand an affectionate squeeze.

Mysti watched Cyprian and Akh meander off to a private bench -- which bothered her not in the least -- except as a sort of microcosm as to why she had little interest staying within Sigil in the first place. She knew there was something relatively big occurring with, in, around -- perhaps even below -- the city. Just sitting in on Illiam'iira's meeting the other day showed the rogue that something was happening. Bold attacks en masse by slaadi. Something about ... a book, perhaps?

When she had tried to pull the investigation together regarding the fire at Rhaunades' library, everyone had simply abandoned the entire endeavor quite literally at the doorstep of the City of Brass. Of course -- maybe the fire had nothing whatsoever to do with anything else that was going on with the events in this city. Maybe it was just one big red herring.

She saw Cyprian and Akh as a microcosm only insomuch as it seemed from Mysti's perspective that there were a number of little independent investigations occurring without a lot of cross-pollenization between the groups. Trying to get information from the other people investigating Rhaunades' -- learning the clues they uncovered, the information gleened -- it was as if they had all been competing rather than working together.

Ever since then -- well -- before and after Illiam'iira's meeting -- her skills have gone to waste. She may as well have been a washerwoman scrubbing down ale mugs there at Masty's for all her part in the things she has read about -- the occasional gossip amongst a small knot of people. When Illiam'iira's meeting ended, so too did Mysti's involvement -- as she was once more enveloped by a sort of .... darkness. Only it was a darkness born of ignorance -- of being benighted and knowing so while being unable to pin down anything solid.

Was it just coincidence that many of those who were at the meeting were also here, now, at the same time and in the same place?

"We all are." he agreed.
Mysti gave Whisper's minimalist but so very true words a slow, contemplative nod.

"More than you could know, my dear Whisper."

The shadowy rogue hoped that her skills and talents - most of them, at any rate - would be better utilized out there somewhere. Rather than acting as Sigil's tourist welcoming committee and occasionally hauling in some scummy con man who got caught cheating at cards.

She sighed even as a slight smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. Even now, no one was sharing their fortunes so that, perhaps, mutiple minds brought to bear on these enigmatic phrases might uncover a deeper meaning? Perhaps?

Mysti got up from the ground, dusted herself off, and resumed her seat between Illiam'iira and Whisper. Only a few seconds had passed since Cyprian and Akh had sought their privacy though it seemed much longer.

As the rogue sat down between her two new-found friends, she wrapped her arm around that of Whisper, her fingers entwined with his. Such a gesture was incredibly forward for Mysti -- and incredibly intimate. She had no idea whether Whisper would even approve.

Well ... if he didn't ... he would shake her off. Withdraw his arm. Find a reason why he needs to get up. Maybe Whisper would growl at her. She almost chuckled out loud at that. Mysti would at least know if Hush approved.

She gave Whisper a slightly cheeky grin and said, "Hi there, dearie."

"A prison of ossiferous innocence... Bones going clickety clack in a head, something bound, small and afraid.... Behind all a laughter, and Fate with talons like knives... Lost and white as bleached bone..."
Akh had replied to all kind greetings, but upon hearing the prophecy she descended into deep introspection, her eyes glassier than usual. Was it about the dragonling? The Kadyx? Both? Perhaps she could figure it out if she delved deep on it.
