Re: City Court Beautification Project (D4, EM) [Event]

As the early morning sun cast its pale light over the City Court of Sigil, a group of unlikely helpers emerged from the bustling streets of the Hive Ward. Goblins, often dismissed as troublemakers and miscreants, formed an odd but determined assembly. Dressed in a motley assortment of mismatched clothing, they carried brooms, buckets, and a zealous determination to participate in the cleanup efforts. Their shabby attire was a stark contrast to the elegant architecture of the City Court, but their presence was a testament to the inclusive nature of Sigil's diverse population.

Curious onlookers, ranging from jaded merchants to inquisitive travelers, gathered around to observe the spectacle. Whispers and skeptical glances accompanied the goblins' every move, as if the very idea of these creatures participating in civic duties was nothing short of a sideshow. The goblins, however, paid no heed to the skepticism. With a surprising display of camaraderie, they set to work alongside the more conventional volunteers, wielding brooms and dustpans with a surprising level of diligence.

Their enthusiasm was infectious, spreading through the gathering like wildfire. As the goblins swept away debris and scrubbed the cobblestone paths, other bystanders began to shed their initial skepticism and joined the effort. Laughter, chatter, and the clatter of cleaning tools filled the air, transforming the once-dreary scene into a vibrant tableau of communal cooperation. The goblins, fueled by a mix of determination and a desire to prove their worth, toiled alongside their new companions. Some even demonstrated remarkable agility, scrambling up walls to clean hard-to-reach spots or crawling into crevices that had long been neglected. Their actions transcended the boundaries of race, faction, and social status, reminding all present that the heart of Sigil beat to the rhythm of unity and shared purpose.
By the time the fake sun climbed higher in the sky, the City Court had been miraculously transformed. The goblins' contributions had been instrumental in achieving this remarkable feat, not to mention everyone else along the way. It was testament to the unexpected alliances that could form when a common goal was at stake. As they returned to the Hive Ward, weary but satisfied, the goblins left behind a city square that gleamed with newfound radiance, and maybe yet a new future for the collective.

Fyne takes up a position with his dulcimer and Lirrax by his side. He begins playing a simple work song, singing along with it to draw people in and keep them working at a steady pace. He has Lirrax fly overhead and sends his singing voice through her as well so he can reach a wider area than just who is immediately around him. It's an engaging and energizing performance that helps keep the workers going through the task.

Cyprian was usually self-centered, and honestly he only came to the event because he was spending the morning with Akh. But something about helping really resonated with him. Even if his motives weren't entirely altruistic they were at the very least well positioned. And sometimes being a Dhampir has its advantages. He can climb as quickly as he can walk Add to that his lithe build and mastery of balance - and you get the perfect worker to navigate tight places and high rises.

It also helps that he cast skill empowerment to show off for Akh.

Ore is a constructor and an arcanist. Trying to repair the defenses seems natural as an option. He has other things on his mind, and the Guvners aren't exactly the best of friends so while it works, it's not his best effort.

Hearing about the efforts underway this morning, Thaddeus launches into action. This was a golden opportunity that many might overlook.

Just as he suspected, the Guvner's organization was straight forward and unimaginative. Taking advantage of this, he collects what blueprints and historical records are available and volunteers himself to compile these for a historic layout of the City Court... with a few added aesthetic choices. Just because these sods were on their way to the leafless tree didn't mean that should be made to suffer more.

Some philosopher once said something about living (and by extension - unliving) in the best possible of all universes. He might have been right, those other time strands were... pretty hardcore on Akh's odds to introduce any form of remembrance to the new form of the Court.

Time couldn't be twisted with this one, it was almost as The Lady herself was meddling and using her powers to clearly not allow a distortion to her city through the actions of the Celadrin...

Well now.

L'Orr-hui could not claim to be surprised when the administration would put all efforts in rebuilding their sector. Still...a lack of justice would help no one. People did put their faith in this system and the ills that could come should legitimate grievances be hear could prove devastating.

Order was not the enemy of Freedom

And the illithid was good with paperwork anyway

During their walk around the court to assemble the papers, they noticed more the a few people in disarray. After a long sigh, the Chronothurge raised a hand into the either to grasp a few strands of passing time. All of the workers could not be helped but some failure were not final quite yet. The world seemed to slow as the illithid's mind followed the pattern of the time weave and, a few thugs and pulls later, two would find themselves with a sense of déjà vu and an opportunity to succeed.

It was her fault really. Giving carte blanche to the unproven goblin scavenger to deal with the aftermath of the weirdest event to have happened in Sigil in weeks, on an impossible schedule, and when everyone was dead tired as a consequence of said chaos. Including her, hence why the idea had felt logical the day before, after the fifth cup of tea of evening.

As of now, she had managed to defend the magical defenses of the Courts from that well meaning and all the more destructive ragtag bunch of misfits. Perhaps if she kept at it for the next couple of hours the situation wouldn't be worst than before they attempted to help?
