The flayer was not quite sure of what to make of this

''Should I have heard of you?'' They asked ''And what question is so unsolvable about the drow?''

PAged were flipped back and forth before they made some notes

''I am a counselor in matters pertaining the arcane and the health of the mind. And you are...a detective?''
I am The Detective Naila Drooten, you might have heard of me?. Naila's mental words include a suitable trumpet accompaniment to celebrate her perceived detective role.

I solve the unsolvable. For instance, now I am solving some questions I had about Drow.

"No, I am researching mostly on behalf of a patient...Forgive me if I keep the details to a minimum. Confidentiality is paramount in this part of my work.''

They shifted their attention to another tome and seemed to be cross refering a few things.
A hard thing for a detective to hear, but I understand. You're some kind of medical professional? Or maybe a hitperson? Courtesan? Investment Broker?

Despite herself, Naila was quite enjoying her own book which seemed to be written much more as a rollicking adventure than the dusty tome she had expected. Although so far none of the Drow depicted were particularly colourful, or had crossed any planar bounties.

''A good amount of pretenders to the title'' came as an impassive reply in the back of her mind while the illithid flipped a page ''They certainly were powerful but in the great vastness of the universe they are overshadowed. Only in their native realm are they truly an inescapable topic...which actually adds to the frustration of researching them.''
Oh, telepathy? Well that makes things much more convenient. Naila settles at a nearby desk and carefully lays out her own tome and then her notebook, pencil at the ready.

May I ask why the interest if they were so localised? Are you from that particular plane perhaps?

Naila starts writing, taking half a second to stop and peer down at the Drow heroes names before shaking her head slightly and pencilling it down.

Snip
A half elf slides a moving ladder along a shelf and hops up to select a dusty tome titled 'Drow - Know the Canon' with a dual wielding ranger on the front. She carefully descends the ladder and slides it back into place before heading past, one eye swivelling to read over L'orr's shoulder.

"Netherese Wizards? One of the classic subjects as I understand it? Although I've never had the pleasure of reading on them myself."

L'Orr-hui had been frustrated with the previous hour's worth of research: The leads had seemed satisfactory but always ended up short. They knew they had to change course until another time to gain a fresh perspective.

This time they would delve into the esoteric aspect of the Netherese wizards.

Picking tomes once again they continued their research
