There's a clarification I should probably do, there's bite marks in both the physical properties of the coin, as well as it's metaphysical essence, and the very context of it ever having been.

These are most likely from different sources.

Magic fumbles here. Just the numb ragged edges of missing history. Someone stole something from this thing, or perhaps form the creature it belonged to. Just gobbled up time and memory like food. The evil gleam of the grin unnerves you.
