"She's an interestin' one. Somethin' of a serial worshipper, hops from deity to deity. Personally, I can see the appeal. A chance to test the waters with a few partners as it were.

She runs a church not far from here. Thing is, she has a reputation for being a focal point of the lost... items that is, not deaders.

Doubt somethin' like the time would've found its way to her.
"

Thaddeus sends his thoughts to L'Orr before responding to the man. "Aye, isn't that the truth, ne'er a Hardhead when you need one, always one when you don't." The satyr lifts his mug in salute to the barkeep, "'Preciate the suggestion of Sister Cade though. Even if she don't have our friend's book, she can at least offer a prayer or two for the basher."

Thad digs a few copper out to give to the man for the information.

Sister Cade?

''Why her? Who is she?'' they sent to Thaddeus to ask

"Good luck finding a murderer." He shakes his head. "Not a single Hardhead is gonna make his way out here to help you with that. If he wasn't picked clean, that book is either dead or with Sister Cade." He shrugs and spits on the ground.

The mead is brought to you both with little fanfare. You're not sure if your disguise works or if the barkeep simply doesn't care there's a Mind Flayer in its establishment, but he looks at you both. "Assume that's what you want." He glances over at you both. "A quick drink before the jump?"
Thaddeus accepts his mead and takes a half-hearted swig before answering, "Nay, we're here 'cause our friend. And 'fore you ask, he didn't take the jump either. He was nicked by some knight o' the post near here. We're lookin' for the cony-catcher did it and for a book our friend had with him."

As L'Orr's last words echo through his mind, a change comes over Thad. His shoulders slump and his back rounds ever so slightly, his usually proud and confident posture giving way to a more forlorn demeanor.

Facing L'Orr, he speaks in a melancholy tone, loudly enough for those nearby and the barkeep to hear, "Don't know if we'll ever find out what really happened to John or his work. Can you 'magine? Spendin' all them years toilin' away... and it's takin' away just like that." Thad abruptly slaps the table with his hand. "What I wouldn't pay to get it back for him. Least we could get it published in his name then, leave somethin' to remember him by."

''We are hive berks down our luck, seeking to repair the cracks of our broken spirit with spirits that can be bottled.'' they began to set the theme before going for the goal

''A good friend of ours had been killed and robbed in the alley four days ago. If anyone could tell us what happened we might makes sense of it all. Mayhaps we can even recover the book he had kept, a journal of our lives before ending up trapped here.''

The cloaked L'Orr-hui spotted the service person coming

''And the curtains lift''

Looking aghast at the question, Thad exclaims, "Am I up for it? I was part of a troupe that performed for Haskar I'll have you know... or it might've been a tall garden gnome. It did seem a bit odd to run into 'em in Arborea and there might've been a few days of drinking leading up to the performance. Which reminds me." Thad holds up some coppers to call for a draught from the barkeep.

"So, what's the game?"

''I would prefer if I could remain discreet as well'' the hooded figure, sitted at a corner table, replied ''Perhaps this could also be an opportunity to test your acting skills. Are you up for it?''

After taking care of some business at the Festhall, Thaddeus heads over to Suicide Alley to catch up with L'Orr and return to the scene of the crime.

Missing the flayer at the specific alleyway he'd spotted the cuprilach, Thad makes a survey of the surroundings before ending up in the tavern and spotting his fellow investigator.

"Goin' in cog nito I see. Probably not necessary. A cager'll see all kinds of things down here is Suicide Alley. Most aren't in the mood to be lookin' and those that are are lookin' for a particular kind of somethin'."
