Cyprian for his part half listened and half nodded to everything being said. He had nothing to really contribute and just wanted to leave. He's not looking at anyone really, just trying to make himself as small as possible. He'd come to the meeting with altruistic intentions, but his motivations had since shifted. The other half of him was now a mixed bag of emotions and regrets.

"Illumians are linguists." Akh said simply. "As for what should be done with the Codex, it depends on what can be done with it, both in the abstract and in the current situation. That calls for a bit more research before we can commit to a course of action."

[Mysti]

Mysti, who was at the limits of -- just about everything, glanced at Whisper, then at the illithid, then slid off the table, moving ever closer to the door.

She was a master of persuasion and diplomacy. When she wished to be. However, she didn't know the languages they needed. Perhaps some peope mistook her question about fighting as an admission that they were going to the City of Brass to pick a fight. Which couldn't have been further from the truth. She just wanted to know who could fight in case things went sideways and there was one.

But at this moment in time, she had no patience for diplomacy. She shrugged.

"So ... are we staging this little excursion to the CIty of Brass? Or shouldn't we? Or should I just stay here in Sigil and others can go? To be honest, I don't have a dog in this fight."

Her skillset had gone to waste pretty much since day one. She was uncomfortable being here. She only had the vaguest idea what was happening; in truth she had arrived too late to be of much help.

"Just ... let me know one way or the other so I know where to be this time tomorrow." Mysti spoke so quietly, one might have thought she was simply shy - and painfully so. "Excuse me," she whispered as she made her way 'round the table to Thaddeus's cart of leftovers from last night's party. She filled her wine glass then headed to the most distant point in the room from where most people where. The wine was finished before she even sat down -- when she put both her elbows on the table and massaged her own temples. Her head was killing her. Much less her emotions.

The illithid was not sure they had been properly understood. Nevertheless, they pressed on

''We will need to investigate the hive as well. the trail will have gone cold but considering the population density, someone might have seen something or might have known the apprentice''

Their eyes were closed for a second

Then we need to investigate the sensorium. Ser Ikkit...did you say only a sensate could have accessed the memory of the Heist?

Mysti gave a look to the illithid, giving him a slight nod of deference before saying, "My apologies for interrupting your own question before it was answered - but I was curious about something. Does anyone know whether this codex that has everyone so alarmed, was it kept in Rhaunades's library before it was burned? I know the answer, one way or the other, may be obvious to some here but," she paused again momentarily as if even this amount of speaking was a strain, "this is all terribly new to me."

And if things went terribly south, she planned to be away from this city in short order since -- it seemed as though whatever was going on was on a large scale ...

Then we need to investigate the sensorium. Ser Ikkit...did you say only a sensate could have accessed the memory of the Heist?

"Yep. An' safe bet they're peerier 'bout it now."

The illithid gives a solemn nod before turning to Whisper

''Whisper, could I ask you and Hush to make a quick tour of the Civic Festhall to see if you can pick up the scent of blood? There could be, or have been a corpse...mayhaps the murder as yet to happen which would be optimal''

[Whisper]

"We can try." he nodded. "Other than lingering signs of violence, is there anything specific we should look for?"

[L'Orr-hui]

''Considering that the Codex was here, and likely used, last night by the fourth member of the heist you could probably get a scent for potent magic.''

[Illiam'iira]

"Mmhmm. Just, uhm, let us know if you want help with that," Illi adds to Whisper with a little nod. Everyone gets a bit of a thankful glance from her before she adds possible fourth member? to the blackboard.
