Art is an act of rebellion! (D1, EM-MM)

Sings-With-Purpose had decided to get herself an early start today, heading out and taking to the streets of the bazaar. There was a lot of bustle to enjoy; and it was easy to get lost in it. Last evening had left her somewhat sodden, the response to kind and encouraging words being violence had not been the desired one, naturally. But it encouraged her to try again, to find ways to bring a positive message to people. Factol's suggested to her in days past that she should speak to the sort of thing that she was passionate about, so art and creativity it was.
Only trouble was, hardheads had a habit of finding such notions a bit offensive at times. Creative expression was the ultimate freedom, and that didn't sit well with those that espoused order above everything. Besides, her particular talents in that regard had a history behind them. The Empyrean Harmonies had brought about quite a lot of disorder back before her time, and now here she was, hoping to bring them back in vogue.
Fortunately, a silver tongue wasn't something she was lacking in; and figuring out ways to spread the chant without drawing overt legal attention to herself was something that seemed to come rather natural to her.
So natural she didn't even need any spells or anything, no sir. That was never even a notion that crossed her mind. Not one bit.

Alynne decided that it was a good point of starting searching for answers to her own personal quest, asking around the bazaar. Although she had joined the Society of Sensation thinking that it could be possible find what she was looking for there, the sensates would not share what she was looking for for free and not to one that had recently joined them.
In any case, the bazaar was a good place to look, many creatures and beings from all around. Her raven, Sephtir was perched on her shoulder, looking around as well, constantly observing around as her mistress was doing.
As she was observing she noticed the winged being with alabaster skin. It reminded her of an angel or something akin that, probably she was a half-celestial or an aasimar. Alynne observed her for a while, curiosity winning over her.

The wings she had presently were just an illusion, woven into her jacket. They were very convincing though, along with the stars and night sky that seemed to make it appear as if her jacket was some kind of portal through space. The celestial nature wasn't an illusion though, there was a definite; if somewhat unusual; aura of divinity around her, marking her heritage as that of the upper planes.
Alynne would see the woman; who carried an intricately carved bandore on her back, go from stall to stall and group to group. Chatting them up, occasionally strumming up a tune here and there as she spoke on the liberating nature of music and art. Despite the chant she was giving, she was no sensate judging by the look of her. Depending on how well versed in sigil's symbolism the woman might be, Alynne might guess she was a member of the Godsmen based on certain motifs in her clothes. That said, there might have been a few senior sensates about, catching Sings-With-Purpose in brief conversations that seemed to suggest they knew each other.

Alynne had no idea how to identify those signs for each faction, she recently joined the Sensates and not because she had some sort of philosophical attachment to their ideology on a deeper level. Not at all.
In any case, she approached towards the celestial looking creature and made a slight curtsy towards her. '' I do find your bandore quite interesting. I have a similar one myself with a few variations, is it magical?'' She asked her.
'' Oh, Alynne Valaris is my name. Former prima dona of the Guild of Performing Artists on the city of Greyhawk on Oerth...'' She presented herself. '' And Sensate of the Society of Sensation.'' She added.

She was just finishing up sharing her chant with some more folk when Alynne walked up, and she gave her a smile. Greyhawk and Oerth meant little to her... presumably one or both names had crossed her path once or twice over the years but most natives rarely bothered to remembered the names of primer worlds, it was all the same to them, mostly
"Sure is," she said, patting the bandore's underside, "Won him in a betting contest over in Arborea. Fine instrument. Name's Sings-With-Purpose, Factotum with the Believers of the Source."

'' Nice to meet you Sings-With-Purpose...'' Alynne greeted the being with a strange name, which she thought might be her artistic name. '' Then perhaps our bandores are siblings, since mine is also from Arborea, an heirloom from my grandfather.'' She commented. '' I have never been on Arborea myself but had a few memories of my grandfather coming to see us back on Oerth when i was a child.''
'' A member of the Believer of the Source, eh? For a moment i thought you might had been a member of the Society of Sensations, given their monopoly over artistic expressions on this city.''

She chuckled at that. "Oh no, the Sensates don't hold a monopoly on that. Not at all. Our Factol encourages artistic endeavours among the Godsmen as a way of ascending ourselves higher. Don't suppose other factions besides our two put as much of an emphasis on it, but I'm sure you can find artists among any faction. Hells, I've even heard the Bleakers engage in poetry, though I wouldn't recommend a listen nor a read less you want to feel downright depressed for a good long while."
There was a small smirk, "Anyways, it's all just a matter of the thought behind it. I'll say I did consider joining up with the sensates, a few years back. Played a lot 'round the festhall in those days. But it was the Godsmen philosophy that took my fancy after all."
She considered something else for a moment. "But yours is from Arborea too, you say? Heirloom, huh? Well, I know the wood from many of the trees over there are good for musical instruments, and it's a magical place to be sure, so it wouldn't be too surprising there's plenty of magical instruments coming from there. Your grandfather's from Arborea, then?"

As you both are talking, you can overhear in the distance a argument between several people who could be seen as adventurers by the looks of it, holding onto a basket.

'' Indeed. He is Tulani Lord.'' She replied to her. '' Not so sure how important he is, but, from what i understand the Tulani rule over the celestial eladrin so, i assume he at least has some sort of power in that Outer Plane.'' Alynne was not so sure about it, she was never close to her grandfather even though she definitely inherited more than just a bandore from him.
'' Personally i don't understand much about the factions in this city, nor their ideologies, other than a passing surperficial knowledge.'' She told Sing. ''I joined the Sensates because it was somewhat obvious for someone like me to join a kind of artistic guild. Also i'm looking for something and i thought that maybe they might have some answers.'' She added.
'' So Lady Sing-with-Purpose, i assume that you are a native of this city? Right? '' She asked.

"I am. Born and raised," she said with a nod, "but surely you know the basic gist though, right? Sensate's to the way I understand 'em, aren't just about artistry. It's about experience, yeah? Experiencing everything there is to experience. Or well, at least the ones that won't outright put them in the dead book. It's not too dissimilar on the surface to the Godsmen. We too seek out new experiences and the like, but for us it's more about them being a lesson, an obstacle to overcome on our path to grow into something greater. That's what the planes and the whole multiverse even are, you know? A constant test, a forge by which we are refined into our final forms throughout our many lives."
It was right around then that she could hear the argument happening, and she seemed to gently and naturally through their conversation guide herself and Alynne over to be nearer to the altercation, something about it having piqued her interest.
