A Quick Bite to Eat [D4, MA] (Combat)
In the bustling chaos of the Great Bazaar, where the scents of exotic spices and the clamor of haggling merchants create a sensory symphony, a man toils over his humble food stall. His stall is a vibrant tableau of colors and flavors, offering a tantalizing array of meats and dishes from across the multiverse. As he slices succulent portions of grilled skewers and arranges them in neat rows, his eyes catch the peculiar figure that has been lurking nearby.
The strange man, an enigma cloaked in a shroud of silence, stands fixated on the assortment of meats displayed before him. His gaze is unyielding, unwavering, as if he were scrutinizing each cut of meat with an intensity that belies words. The food vendor, intrigued by the man's behavior, sets down his knife and approaches him cautiously, his thoughts tinged with curiosity. Without uttering a single spoken word, the peculiar man's presence reaches out to the food vendor's mind, his telepathic plea a stark contrast to the marketplace's cacophony. The message, clear as if whispered in the vendor's ear, requests for some food. A rush of both confusion and a desire to help surges through the vendor, and he hesitates before nodding in response.
But as the vendor's hand stretches toward a juicy skewer of meat, an unnatural transformation overtakes the strange man. In a horrifying twist of form, his body contorts and morphs, his flesh warping into the twisted visage of a Red Slaad. The once-silent figure lets out a guttural snarl, his eyes gleaming with an otherworldly hunger. Before the vendor can react, the creature's maw clamps down onto his leg with a grotesque crunch.
Pain radiates through the vendor's body, shock and terror intertwining as the realization of the situation hits him like a thunderbolt. The bustling marketplace seems to fade away as his world narrows to the searing agony and the nightmarish creature that has latched onto him as other Slaad begin to transform from their humanoid disguises and begin to attack the stands, customers, and vendors, in a swirl of a rainbow colored chaos.
((Combat open for the first 4 combatants. As a reminder, everyone outside is under the effects of Faerie Fire.))

Alynne was just strolling around the market with her entourage as normally, her four guardians and her raven perched on her shoulder, like the diva she was. She didn't mind the random faerie fire effect that was happening all around, in fact she liked it. Why would she deny the magical effect that marked her and made her even more shiny that she normally is...
In any case, as she was walking calmly, then she heard the ruckus happening a bit further, and then she saw the grotesque spectacle of some random people turning into planar frogs.
'' What in the Nine...'' She exclaimed as things seemed to become dangerous quite fast.

Re: A Quick Bite to Eat [D4, MA] (Combat)
Sings may or may not have been lost in thought depending on the outcome of encounters earlier in the day. The noise from the bustling marketplace was unlikely to rouse her from the thinkings going ons inside her head, not even when the first few screams sounded. That was hardly that uncommon after all. When the screaming *continued* however, well, that's when she really had to take note, didn't she?
"Oh hells... again?!" She exclaimed when she saw what was happening.

Gabriel was on walkabout duty that day, clad in black armor and blessed morningstar, when he saw the aslaault of slaaaads. He twirled his weapon, and yelled out the eternal battle cry of the watchmen of the law!

"Hush, go warn the others." The cooshee would do what it wanted to do. Whisper was thankful that he had run off, regardless. As a wanderer, much had and will change about his life. For now, however, this was his home. These were his people. Anything that would threaten them would become his prey.
He was ready to hunt.

Re: A Quick Bite to Eat [D4, MA] (Combat)
She briefly considered blanketing the whole area in a psychic cacaphony, but she worried that their chosen meal could still be alive; along any others that might get caught in the blast radius. So, instead the Aasimar would move forward, unsling her bandore from her back and whistle an unearthly sounding celestial tune in order to breathe life into the most suitable nearby object for her purpose, after which she pointed a finger at the tiefling behind her.
"I believe in you, whoever you are!"
Filling him with a surge of inspiration, and making a weird glowy musical note orbit around him, after which the object she animated would then proceed to attack the closest target to it.
---------------------------------
OOC wall of relevant text:
Move up 20 to 30ft, then use her action to activate Animating Performance at a suitable object that is both within 30ft of her and 30ft of at least one slaadi (probably the one on the left). Ideally this object would be a Large object, such as a market cart or something, but it can be of any size below that and it doesn't really change anything. Whether she moves up 20 or 30ft depends on how close she has to get to make this work.
Once the Animated Object has been created (it uses the Dancing Item statblock), she gives Bardic Inspiration (with a Mote of Potential) to Gabriel Morninstar with her bonus action. As part of this bonus action, she can also mentally command her animated object to attack. It has a fly speed of 30ft, so should probably be able to get into range. It slows enemies that are within 10ft of it by 10ft.
Force Powered Slam: 1d20+9 20
Force Powered Slam damage (Force Damage): 1d10+4 10 - 10 Force Damage to Slaadi
Gabriel Morningstar gets Bardic Inspiration (d8), in addition to how Bardic Inspiration normally works, it grants an additional effect depending on what it's used for:
Ability Check. When the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an ability check, the creature can roll the Bardic Inspiration die again and choose which roll to use, as the mote pops and emits colorful, harmless sparks for a moment.
Attack Roll. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an attack roll against a target, the mote thunderously shatters. The target and each creature of your choice that you can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC (17) or take thunder damage equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.
Saving Throw. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die and adds it to a saving throw, the mote vanishes with the sound of soft music, causing the creature to gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die plus your Charisma modifier (+5).
Dancing Item:
Large or smaller Construct.
AC: 16
Hitpoints: 60
Speed: 30ft, 30ft fly
Strength 18, Dexterity 14, Constitution 16, Intelligence 4, Wisdom 10, Charisma 6
Immune to Poison and Psychic Damage.
Immune to being charmed, exhaustion, poisoned, frightened
Immune to any spell or effect that would change its shape
60ft Darkvision, Passive Perception 10
Understands any language I speak.
When any creature starts its turn within 10ft of the animated object, it will increase or decrease their speed by 10ft (increase for allies, decrease for enemies obviously) until the end of the turn.
Force Powered Slam: +9 to hit, reach 5ft, one target I can see, on hit: 1d10+4 Force Damage.
Note: it is able to use a reaction for opportunity attacks on its own

Re: A Quick Bite to Eat [D4, MA] (Combat)
The Aasimar advances, pouring her will into animating a nearby cart; the newly enlivened thing, a large cart, careens away from the stall it was leaned against, causing the poor unfortunate who was cowering behind it to scream in terror and run for safety. The dancing cart speeds towards the green slaad, drifting in a wide arc until its handles smash against the hide of the green slaad, which flinches from the impact.
The tiefling Gabriel feels a wave of inspiration overtake them.
(Green Slaad is hit by the attack and damaged; Gabriel gains Bardic Inspiration w/ Mote of Potential. The dancing item cart occupies a 10x10 space immediately to the right of the green slaad now, between it and the blue slaad.)

Sir Albus was always the quicker of the group, and the moment that the events started to unfold he adopted and went forward to the defensive position that they had practiced. '' Be careful, my Lady!'' warning the celadrin of the danger.
As he moved forward he took out his crossbow and shoot the blue planar frog but in the heat of the moment, his aim was terrible....
