[D2 - EE & ME - Prisoner Transfer from Cell Block 1138 (Renown / Open)]

Random Renown Task Roll | 1d8 ⇒ 6

She was a hunter -- not a guard. Didn't they have enough guards to do this kind of thing? Granted, she was a crack shot with her bow, so if a prisoner tried to run, uh huh. He wouldn't get too far. But still. Why was she escorting prisoners around the city? Were there no bounties to collect? Or have her bosses (she refused to call them "superiors") lost faith in her abilities for some reason?

Mysti didn't even know the man's name. He was simply prisoner 2342. He was also half a head taller than she was and stunk like the sewers of Zobeck. Another ne'er-do-well who doesn't bathe. Is water that damn rare in Sigil that no one can maintain even the most rudimentary hygiene? To make matters worse, she had to touch him. Well -- sort of. Close enough, as her hand had hold of the chains that bound 2342's hands behind his back. This enabled her to steer him in the direction she wished him to go.

Suddenly, his head whipped around to fix Mysti with hopeful eyes. But the very second his mouth opened to say something, the rogue cut him off.

"I don't want to hear it. Yes, yes. You're innocent. You didn't do it. It's all a mistake of some kind. It's a case of mistaken identity. And you'll give me some money if I let you go. Right? Does that about sum it up?"

This hardened criminal looked surprisingly sullen. "Well -- yeah -- I suppose." Then he became more animated again. "But it's true! Really! I know a lot of people probably tell you the same story ..."

"They do ... and, just so you understand what you're up against. I've never taken a bribe. Nor have I ever let prisoners go. Ever. So just keep walking," Mysti gave him a shove, "and shut the hell up. And stop squirming, dammit. I know what you're doing. Trying to pinch my fingers in the chain links. I instictively pull away. And the next thing that happens is you running down the street trying to outrun an arrow. Good luck with that."

"But you gotta --"

"No. I said shut up. I just want to get you to the court in peace. Is that too much to ask? If you want to run your little game by the magistrate -- be my guest. But I won't -- I said to stop squirming or I swear to ... alright, that's better."

Escorting Prisoner (Acrobatics/Dexterity) | 1d20+3 ⇒ 12

The transfer itself took very little time, Mysti thought, trying to drown out the standard "I'm innocent" pleas of prisoner 2342. It was having to sit around in the court while the trial took place. Because, naturally, she would get stuck escorting him back. She felt like a noble's paige, and none of this helped her get better at what she did. But she put up with it. Only because the Harmonium favored it. Otherwise, she would be very far away from here.

Mysti gave the prisoner yet another little shove -- just because she was feeling a little frustrated.
