He has Lirrax assist him by looking through the library and acting as a second pair of eyes to identify tomes and asking the librarian for directions on his behalf so he can focus on the research.

He puts in the hours and eventually identifies that the silk is actually from a cloak that gives the ability to spin web and walk on walls as a drider can, turning over the information and earning his commission.
