In regards to magic for the Daily tasks, the tasks take at the most 4 hrs to complete. If you have the means to extend your spells to last that long, or abilities to help your rolls that make thematic sense to last that long, you may use magic or those abilities.
If not, the magic won't help you in the final roll.
