D3. What do the Dead want from me?: 1d8 4 - Cataloguing Souls
[Theme, because I fell cheesy.]
This was one of the most challenging tasks for the Dustmen, to find all the available details on the souls passing through the Mortuary in order to give them a full record in the Book of the Dead. But Akh Uur Hoon relished it even if it was often an exercise in futility as it was bringing the prospect of True Death to them. It reinforced her hope that if others could go there, so could she, one day. So she had been working tirelessly in the library since the early morning. However, perhaps of chaotic influences, nothing was going right this morning and she was just massively wasting time and effort, bodies remaining non-descript even after hours of work.

But she also had a pile of those bones bought from Ikkit of which some were mortal coils of unidentified souls that needed a burial.
[3 Ki on Feast on Memories for consecutive human-like bones from Ikkit's collection to possibly retrieve the identity of owners.]

Re: All the Lost Souls [EM-MM3]
The first seems to be a somewhat old elvish sage named Elaria Everlight. Before passing into the beyond, the sage's surface memories overflow with a profound sense of curiosity and wonder. Their strongest emotion is a burning desire for knowledge and understanding, evident in the sparkle of their eyes as they eagerly delve into ancient tomes and grimoires. Their immediate thoughts are often preoccupied with deciphering the cryptic symbols and unraveling the enigmatic truths hidden within the texts they study. A feelings of frustration and regret hit before their demise, and they don't reveal how it is they actually died. Just a feeling of lingering sorrow at leaving behind their unfinished research and the impact they could have had on the world.
The surface memories of the second set are from a valiant paladin named Galen Brightblade are marked by unwavering determination and a fierce sense of duty. Their strongest emotion is an unyielding dedication to protecting the innocent and upholding the principles of justice. Their immediate thoughts are often centered around devising strategies to vanquish evil and ensure the safety of those they hold dear. You get a sense of pride and a gnawing feeling of unfulfilled duty. They may be proud of the lives they saved and the evil they thwarted but was their immediate thoughts are be filled with a sense of duty left unfulfilled and a desire to protect those who mourn their loss as they died lost.
The third bones belong to a rogue Rook Thistlefoot. Their strongest emotion is a sense of exhilaration in the face of danger, evident in the sly grin that often adorns their face during daring escapades. Their immediate thoughts are usually fixated on planning their next heist or evading pursuers, reveling in the adrenaline rush of a successful theft. The surface memories also show he appeared to be amused, yet saddened by the irony of their own fate. Their thoughts could be tinged with a wry humor as they reflect on the daring stunts and narrow escapes that characterized their life. However, they might also feel a touch of melancholy, knowing that their adventurous spirit eventually led them to a dark end in an unfamiliar dump area.

Re: All the Lost Souls [EM-MM3]
Akh prepared urns and went with the bones to the crematorium. Once all those bones were separate piles of ash neatly enclosed, she brought them to the funerary spot, she lit incense, and performed the rites.
"Dear Elaria, deep inside us there is always the urge for a logical universe that we can know and see through, as we were supreme gods outside time and space. Believe me, I understand this. But even gods are within the universe, not outside of it, and so the universe shall forever remain one step ahead of whatever logic we can muster. You have had a wonderful journey of exploration, and don't bemoan its incompleteness, for it has reached the only end that we all can hope for - death. If you have the bravery to venture into True Death, however, this shall be your final act of discovery. In this, you have the chance to become what you studied, that infinite universe others will come to gaze into it with the same endless wonder that was yours in life."
"Dear Galen, your drive to bring as much goodness into this world as possible is very close to my own heart. I admire your ability to bring together the right intention and the right action. Those you saved might have already lived and died, but you had won them time to use well. No-one could ask anything more of you, not even yourself. I believe that your memory was cherished among those who owed you gratitude, and it may have inspired some of them to continue the good cause after you. You have made a mark, and so can go to your last journey into True Death with the same valiance that you demonstrated in life."
She would still give them more justice before engraving the urns with more information, trying to find the records on the times of their deaths and the particular deeds of their lives. And if possible, also places of prior burials if they had them, for she was curious if Ikkit's sources weren't... exhumatory."Dear Rook, you lived like you died. Mind not the time you gambled wrong, be satisfied with all those times you gambled right. In a game of dice with death there is always only one winner, and yet you managed to keep playing against the odds for so long! Death is a great irony, and now you can partake in it. May this last daredevil leap into True Death be your final stunt, your master trick that leaves bystanders agape, the perfect disappearance from the crime scene of life. The joke is on the living."

Re: All the Lost Souls [EM-MM3]
After due diligence was done, she entrusted the names to Dhall, and then went out of the Mortuary to do the same with the Death-of-Names...
