Death is Complicated [MA1]

MA1. Suicide Alley. Hive Roll: 1d100 64

Akh Uur Hoon was shuffling in here sometimes to convince some leapers out of the leap. This was a wrong way to go about death, quite counterproductive overall if one really wanted to progress beyond life into something better. It was sometimes possible to rein in the despair and direct the suicidal berks to the path of the Dead. So the Illumian kept making the attempt.

There was a staunch line of people there alley, mostly people wanting to enjoy the show. The alley itself was dreary & bleak. As you approach one person to convince him that life has more meaning, a few gentlemen approach you. "Oy, what ya doin' here. Ruining the show, missy. These berks got nothing left." The half-elf motions to one of the men beside him to grab the gentlemen you are speaking to and will begin to rifle thru his person, trying to find something of value that the person you are talking to won't be needing for his flight down. "Well, maybe they got something left..."

Another had come to suicide alley, one who had quite the habit of coming here actually. Those who would jump were the few people who might willfully agree to let the flayer eat their brains instead of jumping. The quick, convenient and painless way out was often more alluring then the unknown.

And yet L'Orr-hui would question those who came here to end their days in an effort to deter them from choosing an abrupt end. Only then would make the offer. This flayer only ate ethically sourced brains...when he could.

They could not help but bear witness to the uncouth men.

''Even vultures wait until the last breath to take their due'' The men and the duskwoman could hear in an icy cold tone within their own head

"Except for the soul they can damn to irrevocable decay that may prevent their True Death. No one shall die of despair. The torment will only continue. Think for a moment about your own deaths. What would you like them to be like, hmm?"

She didn't know whether the Flayer's manifested presence was reassuring or disturbing, but their intervention might help arrest the situation.

They look somewhat disturbed by the appearance of the squid-looking monster, but they mostly scoff it off. "We ain't flying down to wherever the hells they going to. But if you got the jink fer it, I'd happily take it as compensation. Call it a body disposal task, if it'll help you sleep at night."

"Not sure where, but so long as I die out of this gods-forsaken ward, I'd be happy for it." The Half-Elf hooligan gives a cocky look at the two of you and extends his hands gently. "So, ready and willing ta take that donation now. Just whatever you can spare..."

"How about I buy your promise?" She eyed the yob calmly.

The flayer hid a hand inside their robe, ready to cast a spell should the need arise.

''I am following your lead for now, Lady Akh Uur Hoon, but I will act according to my will should these individuals choose escalation.'' the flayer sent to the duskwoman's neural pathways

(insight to determine the holligan's state of mind?)

The half-elf smiles. "Oh, how offended I am. Bought like I'm a mead at a tavern? This is charity work, miss. Donations and all that, for the poor and downtrodden. But I'm willing to listen to what you may think is fair..."

((Sure))

"How would you price a promise that when death finds you, it won't be because of your avarice?" She gazed straight at the man.
