[Sings-With-Purpose]

The imposing gates to the Great Foundry were shut off to the outsiders arguing intently with the guards posted there. Arguing loudly about papers and what not, *proving* quite clearly; they argued; that the Great Foundry had in fact originally been commissioned to function not as a workshop of the sort the Believers utilized it for, but as a factory with but one purpose: to produce something called a 'rubber duckie'. Ancient decrees and laws hidden deep in the guvner's vaults of ancient decrees and laws (which is the official title of said vault lest anyone catch them on a technicality) means that henceforth and forever forward the Foundy must be used to produce said 'rubber duckies' at a rate of either 200 tiny duckies a day, or one giant one every 200 days. Or alternatively, 83 duckies a week. Give or take 3 and six quarters on festival days.

They were getting very irate about it, demanding the guards implement action immediately to see that quotas are properly met, or their taxes will be going up. Or down. Or sideways. But whichever ways they go, it will be painfully pleasantly undesireable. Chop chop.

And chop chop is exactly what the guards were starting to itch to do.

Which is when Sings-With-Purpose showed up, trying to calm things down. "Woaw there, woaw there, what seems to be the problem here cutters?"

She was about to launch into a whole argument when a certain pale drow just happened to walk by on his way to somewhere else.

[Fyne]

He notices the tense situation and the Aasimar trying to defuse the situation. A good brawl is one thing, but the Xaositects are likely trying to start some real shit. So Fyne decides that it's probably better for everyone involved if they can prevent a battle royale. "They have a problem? That can't be true, these folks all look perfectly reasonable."

"Oh hey there!" She gave him a small wave as he approached upon seeing her difficulty with keeping her fellow Godsmen from starting to get rough with the Chaosfolk.

When he got closer, she whispered a little something in his ear.

"Ey there cutter, mind helping me out 'ere? If you might be able to tie the pretend-guvners up in legalese for a bit I can talk to my people plainly."

After all, if she just outright started telling the guards it was all just some stupid prank, the xaositects might take offense, and things would swing toward violence regardless. What they needed was a two-pronged assault of *reasonable pacifism.*

Sings gains 4 renown, Fyne gets 1 with the Believers, both get 200 gold.

Fyne nods, easily rolling with the plan. He did enjoy getting under people's skin, but sometimes it's best to just be reasonable and use reason to calm things. He begins citing some of the laws he's been accused of breaking in his short time in Sigil, like disturbing the peace, incitement and other such things. He hasn't been charged or convicted, but the accusations have been levied. But he does so in a more informative manner, making for an engaging distraction by using anecdotal evidence from his own activities.

The fake guvners feign outrage. Or perhaps its genuine outrage. A criminal! Confessing to breaking the rules and laws of ORDER! Why, it's inconceivable! He ought to be hanged and quartered. Or halved. Quadrupled, stamped in triplicate. Surely there are some obscure rulings on the matter? Ah, but what about the *other* obscure ruling that directly contracts the first obscure one? Gosh, maintaining order sure is hard work. They're going to have to deliberately deliberate about it before rendering a judgement.

It was the perfect distraction.

Sings, meanwhile, ended up holding her fellow Godsmen back. There may have been a bit of talk involved about her recent visit to Limbo and the whole nasty business the gatetown had to deal with in the aftermath. These bobites, or xaositects depending on the accent, just needed to blow off some steam and we can indulge them for a little bit can't we? Just long enough for them to get bored and move on.

"I assure you, they were just accusations based on... misunderstandings? Yeah, that's accurate. No need to take any further actions. Actually I have the old report numbers for the statements taken. All of the chaos that I caused was completely within the proper order of things. If it would make you feel more comfortable, you can go to the hall of records to look up the reports?" he suggests. "That will prove that I'm definitely not a rabble-rouser, contrary to claims to the contrary."

He sees that Sings is keeping the Godsmen at bay easily as well while he is doing his thing.

Chaos caused within the proper order of things? Well, to these pretend-guvners that all seemed to be perfectly in order. Meanwhile, Sings did her part, convincing the Foundy gate guards to simply nod and smile. Well, it remained to be seen whether or not they'd manage to remain smiling throughout the ordeal, but at least they'd been convinced to just stand there and suffer through the indignity of having to listen to continued legal ramblings about how the foundry had to be repurposed into a rubber duckie factory. Although halfway through it had changed to rubber chickens instead, followed by a detour discussion about species taxonomy and whether or not rubber chickens and rubber duckies were sufficiently different enough from one another to warrant changing the legal documentation or if they could simply retain the pre-stamped rubber duckie ones.

Fortunately, neither Fyne nor Sings had to sit through the entirety of it, as they had masterfully managed to play things out so that violence could be averted. She pulled him aside as they watched the Xaositects continued their arguments against the guards.

"Thanks for that cutter, things were looking a little dicey there. I'll make sure to put in a good word with the higher ups, see if maybe they can spare some jink for you as thanks."

[Fyne]

"Appreciate it, and happy to help. Glad nobody got injured. Always better if we can avoid any unnecessary bloodshed. I have the feeling these folks didn't understand how seriously your people were taking it, treating it like a game or something.'

[Sings-With-Purpose]

"First time running into the Xaositects?" she asked with a smirk, "another one of the factions, if you can call 'em that. Barmier even than the Bleakers, and that's saying something. A Bleaker might figure there's no meaning to anything, so why do anything at all? Whereas a Chaosman, he'll figure there's no meaning to anything, so just do anything everything nothing whatever and three colors sideways over the rainbow. Barking barmy, the lot of them, basically trying to be some pure distillation of chaos."

[Fyne]

"Send them to the demonweb pits to give them a taste of chaos. They'll change their tunes quick," he says, shaking his head. "They seem more interested in creating inconvenience than real chaos. They're certainly not overly likeable though, that's for sure. But just because I have that in common with them hopefully doesn't mean they'll try to recruit me. How have you been?"
