Population: 35,000
Social Class: Middle class
Character: Smoke billows from workshops and warehouses dot the streets as people frenetically move about their business.
District Type: Industrial district
Buildings: Faction headquarters, Exotic trades, Upscale trades, Average trades, poor trades, average taverns, average lodgings
First Impressions: The massive, sprawling complex of the Great Foundry dominates the surrounding area, spewing hot gasses and smog into the district.
Here the smog, the ash, the horrid smells and putrid acids that the Lower Ward is charmingly known for are at their strongest. Here the people are the most diseased, the fiends the most cruel, the action most frantic. Raw materials make their way into the Great Foundry itself and finished goods leak into general consumption, making the already narrow and air-poor streets choked to the gills with bodies and bloods hurrying to and fro.
The most consummate craftsmen, the most unluckiest apprentices and those who delight in the misery of being make their kip here. Alehouses and cheap places of vice also gather their fair share of bubbers to confuse the already arcane logistics taking place on the doorstep of the Foundry.
Shops and further warehouses fill in all the rest of the gaps, many things are sold, rather few are bought, and so many more are packed into crates, and forgotten or shipped to places unknown. If you need something or someone to make something, this is the place to find it.
Grime, ruin, airless frantic hauling, this is the Great Foundry District. It's still better than the Foundry itself.

- Friendly Fiend Magic Shop Selling the best magical items around. Tell your friends!
- Great Foundry: Home of the Believers of the Source
- The Golden Bell: Standing hard by the Temple of the Abyss, the Golden Bell is a pawnshop for the poor and the desperate. The Bell carries weapons, armor, kitchen goods, tack and harness, jewelry, supposed spell keys, holy and unholy symbols, maps, and more.
- The Black Sails: The Black Sails tavern stands in the shadow of the Armory, a favorite alehouse for rogues and Knights of the Post.
- The Societ of the Luminiferous Aether:A gentleman's club for working mages, much research, explosions and stimulating conversations to be had.
- The Dirk & Firkin: The tavern is a favorite among the bariaur, einheriar, and aasimar that work in the district, occasionally even pulling in a visiting deva or lillend due to the elemental planes that keep the place well heated and well ventilated, as well as offer a refuge from the smog.
- The Mermaid’s Cups: Located just out of the Ditch, the Mermaid’s Cups is most famous for its sign, a mermaid with two shell-like cups covering her breasts. It’s equally famous for the various dancers that perform at the Cups on a nightly basis, and for Larissa the Fence, a sharp cutter who’ll steal a berk blind and leave him aching for a repeat performance.
