Partners in Grime [Day 3, Midnight, Expecting]

"Don't bother me none, Illiam'iira. Nothin' wrong with admitting it bothers you. 'Leastways you're honest 'bout it, 'steada tryin' t'act like it's nothin'."

She peeks at Ikkit from between her eyes, almost smiling. Almost. "Thanks." Illi relaxes a little. "It means a lot, Ikkit. I was really lookin' forward to helping you out so I'm a little frustrated 'bout that, too... uh... do you wanna try again tomorrow? If it's not too busy?"

Wading into the dark grime of the ditch, Amelie Crane makes her way towards where she believe Illiam would have called her from. The woman looks around, unfamiliar with this area, in an attempt to locate her and anyone that she may be there with. She wears a waxed leather coat the covers her from the tip of her nose down to her knees, and carries a number of tools, weapons, and other helpful items. The brow of her tricorn hat drips with the dank condensation of the scummy marsh and she grimaces, as this is not exactly the kind of place she wanted to get out of bed for.

Illiam'iira looks appropriately dressed for scavenging in the Ditch. Why is she scavenging in the Ditch. These things are the exact reason her mother must have...

"Amelie!" Illi waves before clasping her hands together and singing a sweet note. As her hands pull apart she creates three small orbs of silvery moonfire, which begin to dance around her, illuminating the area further for everyone. She waves again. "Over here!" The inquisitor gets a very tired smile from her friend before the drow girl steps aside so she can get a better view of the body.

"Mister Ikkit, this is my cousin Amelie Crane. Amelie, this is mister Ikkit, uhm, full name Ikkit the Bastard."

We've been introduced now!

"Meetcha."

He blinked a bit in the unexpected and unwanted illumination.

"So. Y'don't look like a Hardhead, but Illiam'iira here seems t'trust you."

He gestured to the body.

"I saw this poor gift-wrapped sod die in the Hive last night. Shot fulla arrows by some arsehole another complete berk present opted t'call 'The Hooded Perv,' an' since he hated it, it's what I'm goin' with."

He held out the note to Amelie.

"Body had this with it. Probably drivel tryin' t'sound hard. The Hooded Perv's about as ugly as most o'you longshanks are, nothin' personal, an' a dab hand with illusions. S'how he got away with the body. 'Sides me, there was a satyr on a broom- some Sensate, I reckon, then a barmy modron, and an elf I'd cheerfully drown in the Ditch. Hooded Perv did some rantin' 'bout balance, called us all Primers, seemed to think Primes're a special problem."

"Meetcha."

Amelie nods to her friend, appreciating the illumination of the dancing lights, making her hooded lantern less necessary. Still, she shines the metal object up so that she can see the situation better. Despite her darkvision, she finds that real light makes for much better investigation.

At Ikkit’s remark, and purses her lips and gives a quick nod.
“The same to you. Red Death, but an investigator. I have also alerted the Harmonium, and with luck they will be sending someone as well to look into this.”

He takes the note, looking it over.
“Interesting recounting. You knew the body was here, then? Are there any other details you may be able to offer? I have got a few spells I may be able to cast to get some answers, but we will need as much information as possible first. I do better with, mm, living quarry.”
She says with almost an air of disappointment in her voice.

Illi leans over to peek at the note as well, curious.

"You knew the body was here, then?"

"Nope. But I think th'berk who killed the poor sod knew I work hereabouts. It was Illi'amiira who actually committed to digging it up."

He cocked his head at the drow.

"Hasn't had her curiosity punished like a Cager's. Worked out in this case. Far as details, not really. Poor berk got shot down in Suicide Alley, killer got away with his body, an' now it's turned up here."

Illi holds her hands behind her back, flushed from her cheeks to the tips of her ears. Hasn't been beaten out of her yet. She hopes it never is.

The woman furrows her brow as she reads the note.
"Hmm. It reads "As promised, the body. Enjoy the present, you bastard." --Pervert. Might the title of pervert mean anything to either of you?"
