Sigil: The City of Doors

Having seen the advert in yesterday's S.I.G.I.S., Thaddeus was eager to indulge in a hefty amount of pampering. While he diligently groomed himself and Cornelius, there was nothing quite like laying back and relying on another to handle it. Never in the days on the street would he have imagined he would someday be the type to be able to go and take a spa day, but here he was.

Bursting through the doors, Thaddeus announces himself and waits to be waited on.

At one of the counters, a slightly loud misunderstanding between a clerk and a guest was happening:

"No, I don't want to bath in lava. As a bona fide human, this would be a short lived experience, literally.

However, I would be interesting in acquiring a copy of some of your lava-creating enchantments for the purpose of my researches on the nature of matter. According to elemental theory, as a bridge between fire and earth..."

And to start an accelerated conference apropos why lava was so interesting.

Floating in the spa's pool of pure water is a certain naked drow... though her hair has lengthened considerably in the time since Thaddeus last saw her, enough so to cover her body as modesty might require. Every so often she sighs with delight before heating up the water again with her magic. Illiam'iira's just chillin. Comfy drow chillin.

A hearty chuckle can be heard from Thad as he watches the red haired lady trying to convince the spa staff not to submerge her in lava. "Let me lann you a bit. There's not much research and study going on 'round here, more practical application... the practical application of oils, elixirs, and conditioners."

He turns to address the attendant at the desk, "I'm talking to you with that one. This is some of the finest cashmere," he strokes the immaculately groomed fur growing from his waist down. "you will ever lay hands on and it needs... no deserves special attention. Also, I saw your ad yesterday, so I'll be 'spectin that discount."

Walking past the attendant, he browses the spa and spots Illiam. "Illiam'iira love, is that you? Takin' some time for yourself? Good on ya."

Illi lets out a content little noise as she raises her arm to wave in Thaddeus' general direction. Soooooooooo comfortable.

Yes, that is what Thaddeus needed, a nice relaxing soak.

Looking back to the redhead, who really was just trying to get her own version of pampering, Thad calls out, "Come, you may not get much out of that one, but you will get everything you need from one of these baths... just try to avoid the lava ones."

"Oh, I do intend to enjoy the amenities of this facility too sir. Just trying to make the best of my trip here by covering both leisure and labor.

It's however quite possible my request might have more chances to succeed as a formal letter. The incredibly complex logistics required to handle the needs of so many different species likely don't leave much room for on the spot improvisation. I was expected the pits to be mostly empty and thus accommodating at this time of the week and the day, but seems like I failed to process critical information ahead of that conclusion.

Thus I might move to the leisure part right now instead."

His head nods up and down like he is understanding the words coming out of her mouth. That is true for the most part, it's just the combination of all that words he doesn't fully understand.

"Well ya seem real canny, but if that doesn't work out for ya, you come and find Thaddeus and I'll peel those enchantments right off these conies for ya... for the right jink of course." he gives a conspiratorial wink with his offer.

"For now, I think you're absolutely right, 'tis time for the leisure part."

With this exclamation, Thad plops back into a seat and props up his hooves to be cleaned and trimmed. "Ah yes, that'll do."

"Though I take note of the kindness of that proposal, as an agent of law of the city, and also as a polite citizen wishing no trouble on employees and fellow patrons of this establishment, I would rather you did not engage in property damage, on or off my behalf.

Also, the enchantment sigils would likely get mangled in the process and, while I do have some experience in repairing that type of magical support, if I can spare myself the extra work I'll do."

Illiam'iira sits up to swim to the edge. "You could share the pool with me!" She waves. "I don't mind!"
