Parcel Post [Day 4, Midafternoon, Expecting]

[Ikkit the Bastard]

Ikkit normally made delivery of... smaller parcels, but, assuming no absurd time-warp shenanigans went down, he arrived at the Mortuary with a rather larger package than usual. The goblin was stiff, sore, and even more irritable than usual, but he also had a responsibility. As he'd told Illi, they lived with what they found.

Which meant, after the relevant parties had seen to the investigation of the corpse, he'd assumed the responsibility for its delivery.

All of which amounted to a goblin dragging a jawless body behind him coming into the Mortuary.

[Akh Uur Hoon]

One of the guards seemed to have been made aware of the special arrangement between one of the Factota and the collector with a toad on his head. Akh Uur Hoon would arrive promptly and would greet Ikkit with a small, polite smile before assessing the package.

"This one looks rather fresh. And heavy. Let's put it on here."

She summoned Tenser's Floating Disk she routinely used for cadaver transportation.

"Poor berk's been in the dead-book since night before last. Got shot down in Suicide Alley."

He sighed as he was able to place his burden onto the disc.

"Some jaw-removin' perv as has prob'y done this before."

He paused.

"You get the last batch I left for ya?"

She became attentive at jaw-removal being mentioned. Akh gestured for both of them to actually enter the Mortuary just as the disk floated in vicinity, the cadaver limping from it.

"Are you aware of any other notable circumstances of his death? Do we have the name, perhaps? And yes, I did, this morning, thank you, though I haven't had enough time to process them yet. The previous ones I have already identified and buried. I can show you their urns, you have given them a chance to approach True Death with dignity. And I'll remunerate you promptly."

She paused to gesture at three small ones, with inscriptions for Elaria Everlight, Galen Brightblade, and Rook Thistlefoot, mentioning a few things about each of them so they were properly remembered.

"But there is also one bone among those I initially bought from you I'd like to inquire about the origin of. It was a child that died deserted in darkness. If we were able to find the place and maybe other bones, I could perhaps grant it some peace in death."

"Murdered. Perv as shot 'im said he was a threat to the balance, an' refused to explain much further. An' that was before we tried t'kill 'im. No name [unless he learns it in an earlier timeslot that's running slower], an' the poor deader turned up gift-wrapped by the Ditch last night."

Ikkit surveyed the urns with... the best he could approximate polite interest. He'd seen a few too many people get eaten, dissolved, or simply have their souls ripped out over the years to think a few memorials did too much good in the grand scheme of things, but he supposed it was nice enough for the three sods in this particular case.

"Child as died in darkness? Dunno, they're all bones when I find 'em... got any more t'go on?"

"This bone." She produced a cloth and unwrapped it. "It belonged to a dragonling."

Ikkit peered at it.

Since it was one of the odder bones, he actually did have some vague memory of where he'd found it.

"Found that one down the Slags. Bit of an oddball, puttin' it mildly. Dragon, y'say?"

[Akh Uur Hoon]

She nodded in confirmation. "A child of Argynvost."

One could wonder how the woman was getting names from bones.

"As good a lead as any. I would like to follow it, with some backup. Would you be interested?"

"Slags're usually good for a pickin', an' I got good reasons of my own t'look into where other salvagers might turn up."

He paused.

"Might wanna bring 'long some others. Got a drow I've taken a shine to, and chant is she's got a tagalong as knows how t'thump heads."

"There is someone I want to take with me as well. In your opinion, when is a good time for such explorations?"
