"With how much time a minor mistake to one's identity have made us waste, I'm actually glad I didn't use confusing euphemisms for our target's occupation."

"I find things. Often, that means hunting or foraging, to get components for enchantments and such. Sometimes, it's something less natural. Usually, I'm hired to acquire a specific need. Occasionally, I go out on my own and bring back things to sell."

"Oh! So, what're we hoping to find here? The source of the goods?"

[Flession]

As you all sit comfortably, a pink-skinned woman approaches you, actually wearing some clothes, unlike many of the other women here plops herself down next to Whisper before kicking her feat up and stretching her arms back to get comfortable.



The woman doesn't even give you a chance to speak before she starts. "Well, I at least know you're not with the Harmonium. You're too terrible at this to be Hardheads. You're a Guvner...wouldn't be the first one I dealt with. Guvner and a Indep, and a lost little sheep wandering around in this place. Nice dance, by the way, got some good talent. Let me guess, Eilistraeen? Not the first one I've met who tried to make a living doing this. Hells, we have a few of the priestesses on standby to take over for some of the girls. Now, on to things that matter: what do you want with me?"

[Illiam'iira]

"Now, on to things that matter: what do you want with me?"

Illiam'iira holds up a hand to hide her mouth as she giggles. That's one tough act! Given her line of work, though, it makes sense to be tough. If people think you're rough they're less likely to mess with you, and, given where they're working, it's good to make people worried about losing a hand if they touch you wrong.

[Dare Shah]

"Simple really. The chaos wannabees made a mess yesterday, in part with the help of dangerous fancy new toys. I need to know who provided them with these items and/or the monetary means to acquire them, and where those which were lost in the mayhem but not seized by the proper authorities can now be found."

[Flession]

"You really don't understand those types. Well, you're a Guvner, granted, and they are hard to understand. Go barmey and end up in the Madhouse if you try it...but not the point. Chaosmen don't really have funding, so far as I understand it. They don't get things from me or anyone too often, and the few times they did, it was random things that anyone could get. Hell, you ever go to that lost and found woman in the Hive? Swears she puts no effort into finding things, but sure enough, things pop up at her place that are lost."

She waves her hands. "And that's my point; they often don't need to buy things from me because if they are strong enough in their will, it sort of works out and things just fall in their lap. They just work as Minders and other odd jobs because they are bored or something. That's my way of understanding it."

[Dare Shah]

The response left Dare unconvinced, but one thing at a time:

"And the second question? What happened to all the stuff that they supposedly conjured out of thin air and was lost in the chaos of their own making?

Unless it also returns to the nether as soon as it leaves their hands? Or we're dealing with Schrödinger chaotic people, who are actually pretty coordinated and ordered when it's about keeping their possessions and covering their tracks?"

[Flession]

"Could go, could stay. I dunno, ask one of them . By your questioning I take it you found something of theirs from yesterday. Did it disappear? Could be that they conjured it or bought, or very well stole it. All I know is they don't bother me much for anything. I dunno, you got the item on you or know what it is?"

[Dare Shah]

"The item is where it needs to be."

'Where it needs be' being very official slang for 'I have actually no idea what happened to it'.

"As far as I know, it was a pretty standard wand of wonder. The kind of things that is manufactured, sold and bought. I'm more interested in what we have yet to find than by what we have already found however.

We basically stumbled into this one without even looking. So, maybe I'm exceptionally lucky, and did manage to find by pure chance the only crumb the wannabees left behind. But the razor is on the side they left similar things behind them all over the city, and sharp eyes and agile hands just made them disappear quickly."

[Whisper]

"Has it affected business?" Whisper asked. "A flash flood of such items, even if they disappear, can have lasting effects."

[Flession]

"Not really. If they appear, disappear, stolen, whatever is happening, Lady's law decrees there are only so many people allowed in a faction. Maybe if a bunch of Chasoman has to have it in their heads to make a concernted effort to corner a market like mine and...but they are too scattered brain to even try that."

There's a large shrug. "People have been doing this a long longer than I have with them around, and likely will after I'm in the dead-book. They barely have enough jink anyways, so nothing is really lost."
