He shakes his head, "I asked for it, so there's nothing to make up. And it's only futile if you know it's not going to work, and we didn't know. I truly appreciate the effort. You've been very kind and generous with me and I thank you for that. I couldn't ask for more. In fact, I'd be more inclined to ask how I could compensate you for using your time." He smiles warmly at her, clearly with a positive and appreciative expression.

"I am compensated if I know your soul can be at peace. I can't be the judge of your connection with your patron, and where it can lead you. However, perhaps I can give you some information that gives you a sense of closure, or new purpose." She took care of the wound with tender expertise. "The hooded man you mentioned, I believe his name was John. He is in the Mortuary now and on him my abilities have succeeded. He was the apprentice of Rhaunades and the book he had taken from his late master was the source of his power. His depredations led him to a gruesome fate of likely being executed by a Rilmani, who pursue Balance at all costs. My guess is it was the book which was the source of his vile madness, and it is in unknown hands now. I want to seek out one of the Rilmani to ask..."

[Fyne]

"If you need a hand with that I can be persuasive. Or I can help you kill them so you can read their memories like you do. Glad to know what happened though, I appreciate it. Though it sounds strange because the hooded perv I fought was the one seeking balance when he killed the other guy. Do the Rilmani kill each other?"

[Akh Uur Hoon]

"So maybe I got it wrong. The body is still in the Mortuary. Perhaps it will tell you something? How did the hooded man kill another?" Akh was confused. "I would greatly appreciate your help, Fyne."

"The other was killed by arrows, and the hooded man was removing his jaw," Fyne explained, hoping that would help clear things up.

"Ah, so it means the hooded man might be a Rilmani, and the killed one I got was the apprentice." She looked down, embarrassed for having jumped to the wrong conclusions. "Did the hooded one carry a book?"

[Fyne]

"I didn't see a book on either of them. The hooded one was pretty much covered though, which is why I don't have a description either. Could have been on them somewhere. The hooded one also seemed like they didn't care if we went to the trouble of resurrecting the victim I think? Something like telling them that everything's in balance or something? I don't know, they were really dodgy," Fyne replies with a shrug.

"What I know about the Rilmani is that their sole existence revolves around some abstract sense of balance between order and chaos as well as good and evil. They are going to support or counter either if they opine this balance has shifted too much one way. Since something has got distorted judging by the upsurge of Xaositect activity I think they may be active in Sigil even though they usually keep to the Outlands. I intend to find one of them soon to perhaps learn something about both the overall condition in Sigil and of your hooded man."

[Fyne]

"Sounds like a good plan. I would definitely be interested in helping to see it through."

"There is hearsay there is a Rilmani exile to be met in the place called Fortune's Wheel. Are you familiar with it? I have never been there."
