Re: I Talk to the Wind [D7, LM] [Combat]

Seeing her attempts to back the Djinn down were unsuccessful, the young inquisitor will sail to the ground next to Illiam, 5ft to her south and at the NE of the Djinn. Designating all of her companions, as well as the Dao, she will cast the spell Branding Smite* as a bonus action. She will draw her magical rapier and attempt to strike the Djinn.
On a hit, she will deal 1d8+1d6+3 slashing + 1d8+2d6+11 radiant. (unlikely with a 13)

Presenting her sword in a quick salute before pointing the sword towards the Djinn, she remarks. "This can all stop as soon as you end your attacks. This is to protect the people of this city." And she thrusts the gleaming silver blade forward towards the Djinn.

*Your next hit with a weapon attack deals an extra 2d6 radiant damage. The target also sheds a dim light for 5 ft.

Talk to The Wind - attempt to hit djinn with rapier. branding smite, sneak attack, divine strike, radiant soul. | 1d20+7 ⇒ 13
Talk to The Wind - damage, should 1st attack actually land | 1d8+1d6+1d8+2d6+14 ⇒ 29

The Djinni seems to be unaffected by your attempts to fear it, although the air elemental's attempt to shake off the your spell is unsuccessful.

The Air Elemental, unaffected by the goings on by its master, "stands up" from on the ground and once again turns into a vortex, although completely bypassing Ikkit, it plows thru the other elementals, scattering them in every which direction, although the Dao still remains strong in his footing. The medium sized Earth Elemental, however, dissipates into rocks and crumbles down.

Many thanks for your patience. It's been a weekend that rolled over to Tuesday o_o;;

Whisper was still staring angrily at the Djinn. As Illi's magic takes hold, he casts his own spell, offering a glimpse of the consequences he spoke of.

- - -
Held Action: Casting Fear, Wis DC 14

You project a phantasmal image of a creature’s worst fears. Each creature in a 30-foot cone must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or drop whatever it is holding and become frightened for the duration.
While frightened by this spell, a creature must take the Dash action and move away from you by the safest available route on each of its turns, unless there is nowhere to move. If the creature ends its turn in a location where it doesn’t have line of sight to you, the creature can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell ends for that creature.

Trying not to affect allies.

((Yup, his Scimitar.)).
Whisper's held action goes off.

The Djinni stares at the Drow playing her song and at first ignores her attempts, but with the second casting, she seems more complacent. Though, it's clear her will to resist such things is strong. How long that will last is anyone's guess. Still, her Scimitar is dropped to the ground as she stares waiting while the Dao laughs at what you've done.

Illiam'iira stands shakily to her feet; she looks ready to keel over. Not yet. Just a little while longer. You can do this, Illi. Cradling her lap harp, she begins to play, its notes sweet and light -- only when she starts to sing does the air around her grow heavy. Her words are unintelligible to those present but feel sharp, like they're cutting down to the bone of reality and peeling back its flesh to show some truth beyond.

Sparkles burst forth from the drow as she's transformed in the blink of an eye. Cascading waves of iridescent white bathe the world around her body as her hair gains thrice its length -- it pools at their feet in swirling tendrils, like mist on water, gently glowing to the thrum of Illi's heartbeat. Her body takes on a flat quality, true black leaving no shadow behind, its void destroying all light but for the stars that twinkle beyond it and her bright white eyes. Her blood is stark against the dark. A full rainbow acts as a halo behind Illiam; it casts shards of light across the environment which move in slow kaleidoscopic patterns.

Love's herald looks to the djinn. Two voices echo from her throat and across the battlefield -- hers and the divine dark she's carried with her since she was a child.

"Surrender before my friend kills you."

Move: 15ft to stand
Action: Celestial Majesty cast using Instrument of the Bards: DC 17 Charisma save with disadvantage. -1 level 5 spell, 1 left
60ft radius range should get all three hostiles. If a creature fails its saving throw against Celestial Majesty it drops any weapons it's holding + loses concentration spells/effects. It is also charmed, but does not lose its charmed status if she or an ally attacks it (as per the wording of the spell). An effected creature can repeat its save at the end of each of its turns, presumably with disadvantage as she continues playing on her Instrument of the Bards.
Also, Persuasion and Performance's passives are bumped to 27 for those charmed.
Reaction: Silvery barbs on djinn if they pass to force a re-roll, with advantage going to Whisper.

((You can do it at any point while the spell is active, so I figured I'd let you decide when to use it. Not something hard to retcon, after all. ;) ))

The huge earth elemental comes in close to the fallen tornado and slams the elemental twice, smashing its windy bits in.

~~snip~~
The Djinni nods to her kin. There was indeed wisdom in his words, but pride blinded it from reaching his ears. "I will not be made a fool by a Dao!"

A charge of energy courses thru his body as lightning runs it course thru the elementals, although missing the other obvious target: the goblin, even though it could have. "Cease your involvement in this before it becomes too late for you!"

The Dao simply smirks at his foe while goading him on to attack more. He knew, after all, who would be along soon...

Elsewhere, the Medium Earth Elemental, still up from getting hit by lightning, moves forward and continues to the process to kick the Air Elemental while it's down, but can't seem to get a good swing on him.

[OOC: Ikkit has more bonus damage, though... Fury of the Small means he can add another 11 to what he dished out, and Favored Foe adds another d6 for a further 1 this turn]
((Wasn't sure if you wanted to use Fury for the first one, so feel free to edit your post and apply it. Also, Favored Foe uses concentration, which is currently being held by Zephyr))
[Gotcha! But to get the extra movement, he would also do an additional 1d8 on the round he did so]
