Upon returning back through the portal to the City of Brass, Mysti looked expectantly at the rest of the group.

"I'm going to head on down to the Furnace district. Wherever that is. i hate appearing like a tourist but it can't be helped. Anyone else have a different location in mind?"

Gabriel walked around and continued to have a nice discussion with everyone, not caring about the heat at the moment.

Between the two of you, you're able to get the downlow of some murmurings that something had occurred within the Furnace district of the city. They're not really what exactly, but everyone seems to be on edge there at the moment. Naila can confirm that the merchant you're talking too seems rather nervous about talking about it in the open.

Surveying the surrounding area, Amelie looks to a few of the locals who live or have shops in the immediate vicinity. She finds a few and asks them if traffic through the area is common, and if they may have seen anyone coming or going through the portal recently. Though bit alien coming from her throat, she hopes that using the clicking primordial tongue of Ignan will help add some credibility to her investigation in the eyes of the locals.

You also discover that, and further rumor going around that Marrake al-Sidan al-Hariq ben Lazan, the current Sultan of the City of Brass, has ordered multiple Efreeti to search the planes for something. About what, he's not sure, but they have the palace and the key areas within the Furnace on lockdown.

Mysti watched everyone "break" and head off doing -- whatever it is they planned to do. She had to admit, this was one of the weirdest investigations she'd had to tackle in quite some time.

Well, she was certain the others had things well in hand. With a small shrug, she turned around and headed back through the portal. Fortunately, she was neither rude nor a rube -- and thus thoughtful enough to leave a few of the apples on this side of the portal to make sure everyone could return.

Once on the Sigil side of the portal, she sought out any library staff that might be lingering around and asked about the apples -- who brought them. Where did they come from. Who did they belong to. And similar questions to those.

You're more or less able to gather similar information to what Gabriel has, which confirms that this is the rumor going around on the streets.

((Alright, let's wrap this up:

You can go on the streets and investigate any potential rumors or something that would give you any sort of clue. Choose one skill each and roll it. Depending on the roll and the skill will net you some information. After that, you all figure that you best head back to Sigil before it gets too hot for you or some slavers decide you're a easy mark)).

((Pretty much what I mentioned to Nailia, Mysti finds.))

Mysti was a little more skeptical than the rest. She wasn't so sure there were any clues to be had in the City of Brass. It was an entire other plane of existence. The person who used this gate could be anywhere -- and if it had been Rhaunades himself, well, as they say -- dead men tell no tales.

She believed that finding out where these apples came from was probably the best indication as to who or what did this. Where did they come from? Who brought them? Did anyone see someone with them? Fresh fruit in the city was not always easy to get, after all. Did someone buy them? Which market? Is there an apple grower? Are these special apples in any way -- so they can act as the key?

She quickly moved her head to the side, cracking her neck. Then she cracked her knuckles. No telling what might be lurking in a place like this. In any event, she was willing to give the others the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they would get lucky and find a clue here. Though Mysti was pretty confident that this location itself was the clue.

The rogue moved up next to Naila and knelt for a moment, carefully obvserving the ground for prints or scuffmarks -- the disturbance of dust. Had this gate been used recently? She also came to the conclusion that the apples were fresh so --- but yet --- the apples may be fresh because they hadn't yet been used as gate keys. Which still means the last person who may have used it could've been centuries ago. Unless ...

"Find anything interesting?"

She was reasonably certain she had -- but she wanted to see how forthcoming they would be.

Gabriel was unbothered by the heat. "Aw, it's so cozy here!" He glanced around any nearby passerby-s, and started asking whether anyone hsa come through recently that archway, and if yes, which way they went.

Meanwhile, Rufus was sniffing around to see whether he could pick up any scent from the wizard.

The dog simply barks its two heads, sniffing around the area. The fire and heat make it hard for him to track, but it does appear that there is a smell of familiarity within this area of the wizard.
