Once on the Sigil side of the portal, she sought out any library staff that might be lingering around and asked about the apples -- who brought them. Where did they come from. Who did they belong to. And similar questions to those.

Between the two of you, you're able to get the downlow of some murmurings that something had occurred within the Furnace district of the city. They're not really what exactly, but everyone seems to be on edge there at the moment. Naila can confirm that the merchant you're talking too seems rather nervous about talking about it in the open.

Surveying the surrounding area, Amelie looks to a few of the locals who live or have shops in the immediate vicinity. She finds a few and asks them if traffic through the area is common, and if they may have seen anyone coming or going through the portal recently. Though bit alien coming from her throat, she hopes that using the clicking primordial tongue of Ignan will help add some credibility to her investigation in the eyes of the locals.
