The music shifts and a troupe of belly dancers take the stage. Thaddeus separates from Dare and begins to dance around her, showing off his own talents and trying to guide her to follow suit. "Don't think too much about moving your body, just focus on lifting your hips, one side and then the next. Yes, like that." Cornelius has dismounted Thad's shoulders and can be seen following the same directions on the floor, doing his best to do a quadrupedal shimmy. "Yet 'nother idea... your creation's truly inspiring. You mentioned an affinity for chess. What about a person sized set that would take certain moves given the right command. You could charge admission to play and host tournaments where the audience could easily see."

"Of course, of course!" Cyprian watched the show with applause. 'What a magnificent night this is going to be!' He looks around for Akh and is a bit sad she hasn't emerged yet.

Akh had had second thoughts on her overall performance and discovered that she in fact could feel embarrassment to some extent. So she had been very socially invisible for most of the party until someone unwittingly pushed her out of the shadow.

"Of course you have a soul," She blurts out without thinking.

"Do Modrons?" Ore replies with an inclination of his head, eyes flickering to the other one in the conversation. After all, he had been mistaken for one. "I believe there is academic debate on the subject"

Again Illia finds herself looking to Boy with a smile. "So you're an artist?" Glancing back up at Ore, her eyes are now their usual softness, Illiam'iira just Illiam. "You know, you don't have to become a god to do that. But, it's your life, and your happiness, and the world could always use another god, if they're kind." She truly hopes he'd be a kind god.

"I enjoy tinkering and forging just find, but the desire of creation was of something...else. You are petting him right now." Ore motions to the dog construct.

"I do not know if what intend is a kindness, but it would please me if others found a path toward it"

That was technically true. Didn't have much experience with nonclassical moves however. But fake it until you make it was most knightly.

"Making an automaton that moves chess pieces is no problem. Making it look good is barely more complicated. Making it move the pieces properly is an interesting challenge. Making it into a good player is the true complexity.

As far as I know, all who pretended to have succeeded were eventually revealed as fraud, the automaton actually just a puppet used by a flesh or spirit player.

I do believe it to be possible however. Though my current solution would require hiding mechanisms the size of a printing press within a dimensional pocket."

"Of course my lady. I merely thought this might be a particular dance you weren't familiar with, since it's typically done without a partner. It's not something they usually teach in proper lessons." He steps back to admire Dare's moves... modestly of course.

"My idea wouldn't be to automate the pieces, that seems entirely too complicated, but to create movement of the pieces themselves. So that a player could select the move, tell the piece which move, and then the piece takes action to complete the move. Imagine a knight riding its steed across the board or a queen gracefully gliding in to capture a rook.

It'd add another level of entertainment for the players and any audience. I can see some high-ups vying to see who has the more intricate set. Could bring a whole new crowd to chess."

"Pretty sure enchanters have taken commissions for what you describe since centuries. Not my specialty but I think each piece simply is a miniature golem? In all cases, not sure what my own tinkerings would bring to the table?

Thaddeus scratches at his head abashed, "Ah, forgive me. In my eagerness, I dabbled in something I'm no blood on. I feel such a drive after seeing what you've brought us tonight that I just want to add on to it. 'Tis like when you find a new spice and you put it in all your food for a week.

As for chess itself. I know of the game but haven't played much in my time. Didn't know that was already a thing with the enchanted sets. I just envisioned a dozen little... or ten..." he counts on his fingers for a moment, "a handful of little pawns with shield and sword marching across the board driven by the elegant mechanisms you've created. I wouldn't mind learnin' a bit more though."

"I mean, I've met modrons I've liked very much," She says delicately. "Though whether or not I like someone isn't... the definition of having a soul..." Illia giggles nervously. "I know Boy's your baby. You... I saw... how you reacted," Again she's delicate with her words, worried, "And you said so." A hand cradles Boy's jaw, fingers running along to feel the angles of Ore's creation.

"Well, gods usually have spheres of influence, so what is it you intend?"

Briefly she glances to Alynne. Hooopefully she hasn't totally hogged Ore... hopefully...

He dipped her low and sensually on the next turn. A little spin and her face is mere inches away, "Would you really have me brag?" He whispered. "I'd imagine you're a woman who prefers action." His face is a tad more amorous as they spin and continue. "Have you ever counted a dhampir amongst your lovers? Have you ever offered your blood in feast? It's an intimate experience." He growls softly, playfully. "See my previous argument about temptation."

"Well, oi canny say ah've ever 'ad sum drain me av me blud before, though oi 'av 'ad ter pay de Fated taxes every year." She grins wide and slaps his stomach and gives a cheeky smile. "Oi must say, yer peck up lines really suk." She grinned widely and spins a little before looping back in your face. "Tell me you've 'eard dat wan before."
