"Quick wits," she said toward Illiam, "Planes will mess with you in all sorts of strange ways. Quick wits and steady will's a core trait of any planeswalking cutter that does repeating walking."

Alright, so, something she didn't have experience in. She nods. "I assume it extends to writing and sign as well as verbal communication? What about magical communication, such as spells that allow the comprehension of languages or that make one's words understood by everyone? Do those spells still work correctly under these circumstances or --" She blinks. "Does magic work as it should, or are there unusual or unintended effects, such as with wild magic?"

"Quick Wits and a Steady Will is the name of my memoir, actually."

Naila strides in, and nods repeatedly to all present.

"Good Morning all. I am looking forward to solving this mystery, if my mind is not reduced to a chaotic, feral state."

As the other's spoke, Valeria's blue eyes gradually grew marginally wider. "How... likely is that?" She asked.

After a moment, she mustered a smile. "Not that I'm worried! Not especially. Keep calm and carry on, and all that." A phrase she'd heard from time to time. "Still, one does rather like knowing the odds, hmmm?"

[Flession]

"The longer you stay there, the better the chances. Once we get to Limbo, it, surprisingly, gets better. Just have to find the gate. Which, well...that is going to be the problem too."

"Spells sort of work there, mind reading will too, but your head's too jumbled up to make sense of it all. Writing things down too. Looks fine to you, the rest of us it's may just look like nonsense."

[Sings-With-Purpose]

"Never have them tell you the odds, Valeria," Sings said with a solemn nod, "Odds just aim to hold you back from the risks that have you win big!"

She then turned toward more practical matters. "Well, I can't say I have much in the way that'd help find us the portal. I *could* fashion myself a pretty large... or small... servant, one that I'm *pretty* sure isn't going to gets its mind affected by any xaos nonsense... but... I'd probably have to set it to a task before my voice and mind goes all barmy because otherwise it's not gonna be much help I'm afraid. Still, depending on our need, it's something at least."

Illi gives Valeria a gentle knowing look. If she knew her better or they were alone maybe she could offer some comfort but in the moment it felt like it would just make things worse for her... poor Valeria...

"That sounds really helpful, Miss Sings! Do you think you could do that now? Or would it not survive walking through the door?" Another sip of coffee... why doesn't it ever wake HER up? "Miss Phae, I have two more questions. The process of losing your faculties there, is it anything like losing them to a form of magic? If it is I think I can help strengthen our hold to ourselves at least for thirty or forty minutes. Do you think that's long enough to find the gate?"

"Oh I figure it'll do just fine with portals. Only sticks around for an hour or so, though. Works best on something that's already well, real and existing."

She shrugs. "I...suppose it can be? Any protections you want to use should go up now before we begin." Looking back. "Is the big guy coming too or is this it?"

Quev will bang his spear against his shield. "I am coming."

"Oh I figure it'll do just fine with portals. Only sticks around for an hour or so, though. Works best on something that's already well, real and existing."

That gets a smile; Illiam's excited to see how Sings' creation magic works!

She shrugs. "I...suppose it can be? Any protections you want to use should go up now before we begin." Looking back. "Is the big guy coming too or is this it?"

"I think we're just waiting on Mister Ore now?"
