"I'm awaiting payment on a job from S.I.G.I.S., so it'll be a few days before I can buy. I was hoping you I could get you to part with one for 150 gold," She says, "Or maybe 175 for a particularly fine specimen, with my services covering the rest." And so the haggling begins.

He snorted, and glared at Ikkit for bring this balloon-headed drow to him.

Ikkit made an extremely rude gesture in response.

"Half. You're asking for half, and a promise you'll show it off. Forgive me if I'm less than impressed, especially since you admit you haven't been paid yet!"

"Hey, a girl's gotta pay bills and put food on the table!" She says, throwing her hands up in the air. "Ain't smart to just throw money at you right now in case the gig falls through. Gotta think economical-like. 'Sides, I'll not just show it off, though I will," She chirps, "I'll also perform and advertise. Those are two totally different things. I wanna drive traffic your way, get your name out there. You just tell me where to go and what impression you want me to give, if there's something you really want to fly off the shelves, and I'll figure out the best way to get your future customers lining up."

...haggling works different in Sigil, noted. She was expecting a higher price to be thrown back at her. Oh well. You play the cards you're given.

"Do you see what I offer here, girl?"

"A buncha crap, some of which you got from me-"

"Shut up, Ikkit!"

"Make me!"

Hirota was sorely tempted to try, he really was, but...

But the swelling...

"I tell you three hundred, you offer half- half which you haven't even got!- and then some words..."

The exchange with Ikkit appeared to have rattled him out of actually talking up his wares.

But not enough that he wasn't sticking to his guns

[Illi needs to beat a 16 to haggle him down]

"You're a businessman in a bustling city, aren't you? You ought to be used to working on credit, even if that wasn't what I was asking for. And besides, I was expecting you to counter-offer." She leans over to get a good look at his stock before looking back up at the man. "You are allowed to ask for more, mister Hirota. I just wanted to negotiate. Where I'm from people haggle."

Hirota glanced at Ikkit again, and, still plainly rattled, grimaced.

"I could do two-seventy."
