His eyes spark a bit, showing obvious excitement; not to mention the small burst of thoughts this comment sets off. "An expedition to the Prime for research, sounds enticing."

Thad switches to audible speech for a moment, "I am Thaddeus, Factotum of the Society of Sensation, at your service." he says while standing and offering a bow.

As he takes his seat, he concentrates again on thinking clearly and concisely, "May I beg to ask what type of research this Candlekeep offers?

[L'Orr-hui]

''Enticing? Peculiar choice of word'' The illithid was not quite sure of what to make of the situation before the faction of the satyr was revealed

Ah...this explains that

''Well met Thaddeus'' they replied politely ''I am L'Orr-hui of the Free League''

There was a pondering pause before they continued

''I aim to learn more about a particuliar branch of Netherese magic. It could prove useful to a case I a following.''

[Thaddeus]

"Netherese magic, this was getting better and better. Can't say as I'm familiar with much Netherese magic. And this burg, Candlekeep, has the knowledge you seek?"

Thad was edging closer and closer to L'Orr. "For an expedition like this, I'm sure you've got a few bloods lined up to accompany you.

[L'Orr-hui]

L'Orr-hui was immobile except for their tentacle. Their expression was unreadable

''Perhap. Why do you ask?'

[Thaddeus]

More used to conveying his charm audibly, Thad did his best to project his confidence mentally, "I won't claim to be well-lanned on the Prime, but I'm canny 'nough to handle myself. I've got skills may come in handy and a willingness to go for the ride.

[L'Orr-hui]

Well, that was sudden

''Perhaps so but we just met. While I do not have any reason to distrust you their are others I trust more. Why should I bring you along?''

[Thaddeus]

"Fair 'nough. But how d'you build trust without takin' a risk? And I'm a low risk. I've got a reputation 'round the Cage. Never turned stag on no one 'less they turned on me first."

Thad motions to L'Orr's table and to his own. "We both have an appreciation of the scholarly pursuits. I've got no stake in this case you're 'vestigating... 'less it's the hooded perv. The victim's jaw wasn't sawed off was it?"

[L'Orr-hui]

''But reputation can be influenced'' they replied ''One with a silver tongue can craft one that is not owned''

L'Orr-hui straightened

''But all would be revealed should you let me read you thoughts. Would you allow me to do so?''

Looking mockingly ashamed and a little proud, Thad thinks, "'Tis is but another of my many talents. A silver tongue can often accomplish what a silver dagger can not."

Tilting his head, he switches to speech, "Oh, I thought that's what you've been doin'. Go ahead, Thaddeus is an open book." He offers while puffing out his chest.

Once L'Orr delves in, a few thoughts just below the surface will continue to rise and repeat:
