A Heart to Heart [Day 4, Late Evening, Expecting]

It had been a rather busy day already, but what else was new?

Back from the Slags with [pending GM approval] most of his limbs still attached, Ikkit was making a desultory pass over the bins in one of the more produce-oriented streets, less to find things to sell than in quest for something suitable to cook up in his kip.

And of course, any vermin-infested produce thrown out might have snacks galore for Fekt, which just lent some impetus to inspection of various cabbages.

Wouldn't you know it, Illiam'iira passes by... then doubles back... peeking at Ikkit a moment before cheeping, "Hi!"

She's got a few empty bags in her arms. And a big ass pole she's carrying over her shoulder. And some rope. What in Sigil?!?

"We gotta stop meeting like this, cutter. It don't do for a fella as handsome as me t'keep gettin' seen with an oversized giant like you."

Illi giggles as she hops closer! "Aww, but you're the handsomest guy in town! How can I not keep botherin' you?" She grins. "Good night for salvage?" Things do seem way more wrecked than usual... "...did something happen 'round here?"

"Prob'ly a fight. Chant is some Slaad hit the Great Bazaar, and they ain't 'zactly... restrained in their approach."

He picked up a cabbage someone had stomped on, and, seeing the bugs crawling all over it, smiled happily and stuffed it into a small bag.

"So yeah, s'agood night for th'right kind of salvage. Less for resale than repurposin'." A pause. "What 'bout you? You look like you're about somethin'."

"What? Slaad?" Her eyes grow wide. Oh no. They're in Sigil now..? "Oh! Uhm! I was gonna get a bunch of food for the soup kitchen in the Slags. Figure with everything that's been going on these last few days, people could use some real good food." She taps her chin. "...maybe someone could hand out food here, too? Might be helpful for all the work that'll need to be done to fix up the poor Market..."

"Anything gets handed out for free in this ward is just gonna confuse the local bashers. Shouldn't stop you from tryin', but the local food vendors would take it poorly."

He looked the drow up and down.

"Nah, it's just nice to feed people." She smiles. "Used to do it back home, too. My mama founded and funds a few soup kitchens and she expected alla us kids to work it a few summers. I just kinda took to it." Better than the sword.

Illi frowns a bit. She hadn't thought of the vendors. "Maybe I could help them rebuild things, or, or replace stuff..." Only thing she wants is to be helpful. Not cause more problems. Dangit.

Illi's a little speechless for a moment.

Her first instinct is to apologize, but for what? Instead she just frowns. "I, uh, aww beans..." Ain't the first time someone's told her that. Not in the same words but... it's not the first time. "I don't really know how to, not, try so hard," She finally gets out.
