[ME, D4] Dragon Quest II

While the Drow maintains her concentration ensuring any of the flying creatures, the rest of you maintain a sharp eye on the surroundings until you see a archway, covered in runic carvings, its engravings covered in dust and cobwebs.

You all carefully walk thru the slippery substance to it to examine it further and can determine that if a thing was to be a portal, this would be it. The demons made this fashionable and notable, since they likely never figured they would be pushed out.

You do not seem to be seem to be holding a key, though, and it remains ever silent.

[Akh Uur Hoon]

"So we have a portal, but without knowing what the key is." Akh whispered. "I suppose it brings our exploration tonight to a pause. We can only continue once we know what opens it. This may be something for tomorrow, unless some of you decide this endeavour is not worth your time and effort, especially that it would lead us into the Layer of Indifference within the Abyss." She points at the '348' marked in Abyssal. "Or that it's too frigid for your fashion sense, Illi'amiira." The dead woman glanced over the gossamer attire (?) of the Drow.

[Illiam'iira]

She's wearing practical clothes suited for exploration; the only flashy thing Illiam'iira's carrying at the moment is her brooch, which she always wears.

Illi raises an eyebrow -- why wouldn't she just change clothes? -- but, the girl can't really answer since she's singing to keep everyone safe. So instead she signs to Quev.

[Ikkit the Bastard]

Ikkit rolled his eyes and had a look-round, taking in the eyewings with a vague not-to-be-satisfied culinary interest.

If they were demons, eating them was a bad idea.

On the subject, the Abyss wasn't high on his list of places to visit, and having done his duty as a guide, he wasn't sure how invested he was in the final outcome of Akh's hunt for dragon bones.

He made a seesaw motion with his hand, then motioned toward the entrance.

If they were going to have a chinwag about a future assault on the portal, might be best to do it away from the abyssal bat-things.

[Cyprian Kircheis]

Cyprian will carefully do one final sweep of all the rooms and hidey holes to be sure. "I'm assuming research is needed to find this key?" He looks over at Illi's face and grins. "I've no notion of what to expect, but if it's indeed a frigid land I'll need to make preparations myself." He winks at Illi reassuringly.

Assuming he doesn't find anything of note he'll follow Akh's lead.

Quev will turn to Akh. "Illia says that she is not afraid and will follow if she must. And that she can only sing so long so we should make haste."

[Illiam'iira]

Illi will give Quev a smile and a thumbs up once he's spoken (raspy and growly as it is) before starting to make her way to the exit.

With the drow on their way out, Ikkit carefully- and quietly- followed.

As did the cerebral ghoulette. Outside, she waited for queries and declarations.

Once they door is shut safely behind them, Illia will take a big breath and relax. "Eesh..."

She looks to Akh and considers her words; you must act effectively, Illiam'iira. "Those little beasties up there -- do you think they could travel freely through the portal, or are they trapped? They look trapped," She mumbles that last bit. "And, what are you looking for, miss Akh? I'd, uhm, like to know what exactly is going on."
