[D5, EE-LE] Are You Ready For a New Sensation? (Roleplay)

Ah. Called it. Illi listens, considers things.

"You're -- uhm --" The girl scoots forward to get close to Alynne, standing on her tippy-toes to try and get closer. And she whispers something.

And then Illi falls back onto the balls of her feet, once more stepping back to respect the woman's space. "I know that's a bit of a personal question, but it does have some relevance." But from her assurance, she does seem to have some ideas.

Alynne considers what the drow whispered to her. She kind of didn't understood from where or why that kind of question would come from. '' Of course not, i would had been flayed by one of your Lolth's priestesses, look at me.'' She replied kind of frustrated because she didn't understood what was the relation between what she had said and the drow's question. She was not the brightest mind, Alynne.

'' Did i told you i came from a elvish realm? Celene, there are no drows in there.'' She adds. '' My father is a half eladrin and my mother is a faerie grey elf. My grandfather is a Tulani Celestial Eladrin from Arborea, i'm not a drow''

"Ooooh." Illi nods, listening. Hm. Skipped right over possibly -- no, she might still have something fiendish going on there. The girl gives Alynne a rather formal bow. "Apologies for any offense, my lady; it was unintended. There are some drow who have light hair and light skin, and so I did not want to assume, especially given what we had previously spoken of."

She then straightens up and returns to her normal informality. "Alright. That does help miss Alynne, thank you. So." Illi hums as she briefly considers how to explain. "Take a moment to look around this party."

The drow pauses to allow her time to do this.

When his piece of performance art/not-really-veiled threat/who can say exhausted its allotted time (which is to say, about five minutes after he set it up), Ikkit started to circulate... both to scarf the free food, and to be on the look-out for anything useful that might end up in the garbage.

'' Yeah well whatever, you are forgiven.'' Alynne still could not understand why that question was ushered to her. Drows with light skin? She has not heard about such things.

'' What? I just see creatures and beings. Your point?'' She looks around but doesn't see anything out of order, besides the weird performances like the one coming from a squid looking thing.

Ikkit blinked, then shredded the meat off of the chicken leg he was holding, gulped it down, then crunched the bone happily in his teeth. Telelpathy meant he could keep chowing down without interrupting the conversation.

"Not yet, but trying to get it started properly, Salvager's Guild is the name I was going for, but Scavenger's Union has some style. Who are you?"

'' What? I just see creatures and beings. Your point?''

"Every person in this room, every person in this city, everything -- that's you. And you're them." She holds up her hands before Alynne can counter her. "I don't mean it literally. But in a sense, what makes you you is your circumstances -- the hand life dealt you when you were born. Those circumstances, that roll of the dice, it might seem like a wide chasm, but in reality, were your circumstances different, you could be a drow, or a goblin, or a human. In the grand scheme of existence you are a mote of dust, only you because of your specific place, time, and experiences, which are minute given the great expanse of space-time -- a mote of dust the same as everybody else. Given the right place, time, and experiences, you could expand yourself beyond what life has given you."

Illi smiles. "Since you've found yourself in a rut, open yourself up. If you're struggling with singing, try dancing, or playing an instrument. Talk to people you normally wouldn't. Go new places and try new experiences. Read poetry and magic treatises. Consider the people around you and show a little empathy. If it doesn't help you connect to them, it might still help you connect with yourself, or at least relax you enough it doesn't feel like you're pounding your head into a wall."

'' You sound like a Signer.'' Alynne replies to what Illi said to her, a bit bored, a bit confused and a bit annoyed. '' But certainly you sound like my mother.'' talking about empathy didn't reflect her.

Mote of dust? a goblin or drow on her life? that didn't sound like her, at all. '' I am what i am. And i will show this city what i'm capable of, i'm sure of it.'' She adds.

'' You are a weird one for a Lolthite...'' She commented about Illi's weirdness, or difference from a normal drow.

"Oh, that's because I'm not one." Illi giggles. "I was born on the surface. My mama --" And the way she says mama is very silly, almost childish in a playful way, "Was born on the surface, too. Never even been to the Underdark where I'm from."

That confused Alynne even more. '' Your prime world is a strange one then. Never heard about drows living on the surface, at least not on Oerth. Except for raiders. '' She explained. The whole surface explanation sound alien to Alynne, indeed, now that she thought about it, she was even more confused.

'' Hang on, if you lived in the surface of your prime, didn't the sun hurt you? I thought drows avoided the sun because it burned them. At least that is what iwas told. Unless your world doesn't have a sun?''
